Nice piece of work

Beautifully shot on 35mm b/w filmstock in London and Venice. Slightly creaky storyline which manages to keep the viewer hooked, some of the characters a little wooden 'superficial), including the - lead who works hard but doesn't quite succeed in being likable. Somewhat heavy-handed 'surprise' at the end. Overall, rather good, despite its faults. Not sure I'd pay for a DVD of it, but I followed it with some interest and would be curious to see the photography in detail on a big screen projection (I watched it streamed - with bad sync - on the internet). A creditable effort. It would be interesting to see this director work with more time to develop his characters and storyline. His aesthetic values are above reproach.
