An average to mediocre student project
Simon_Bocanegra21 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Like someone ran out of money, interest, or just died writing it- It looks like the writer/director intends to say "examine your life for deeper meaning, then get back and inform me" while it actually says "because I can't write a coherent story and don't really know what I want to say, everything I say here is meaningless". If that's its intent, it breaks new ground as the artform of time-waste.

Kinda like an interesting looking car that it takes an hour and a half to start up, and it sounds good, then dies. Well, how do you feel about that?

Numb? Exactly. The writer dithers with some story and character development, has the main character shlep around in her office, dictating pathetic musings into a hand recorder while looking soulful, recurring flashback, and voila- the punchline. Hope your popcorn isn't stale, so you'll at least have something to smile about as this waste of time fades to black.

Gee, is that the writer's message? "Madeja watch!"

Mystical story about mysticism
raypaquin2 October 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Just as one should never be sentimental about making a sentimental film, so one should not make a mystical film mystically. In both cases, there should be a firm underlying storyline. Here, there isn't. Unless I missed something, a man gives blood to a baby girl suffering from a defective heart in an experimental operation done during the mid 1950s. He dies on the operation table. Then he is shown raising her years later. Thinking that I *must* have missed something, I went through the excruciating experience of watching the film second time, but to no avail. I think the film-makers ran out of money before the full story could be told.

Interesting story about love and the heart
phoenixn7g9 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Very confusing movie. After watching it for a while i got it! EUREKA! What it is is that this man, who randomly found a baby in the snow, gives up his life for this little girl. She needs important surgery to fix a heart defect. He dies while they transfer his blood through to her. Then she has dreams about growing up with him. I realized this when I find that she is always asleep when the nanny finds her and no father is to be seen. Def. an interesting story but if you aren't paying attention you will lose the story. I watched it with someone else and we bounced ideas of what could be happening off of each other and eventually figured it out. Very Very cute baby though... and sad but adorable storyline about when she was younger :)

Daddy's Little Girl
crossbow010618 January 2008
Since I watched this on the Sundance Channel, I had no expectations. I have seen the lead actress Mimi Kuzyk and the lead actor Peter Stebbings in other things, so I decided to try it. This is a sweet little film about a special relationship. The father is actually someone who rescues a little girl who was abandoned. The movie is many times in flashback, and it is these scenes that are much more interesting. The little girl, it turns out, has a congenital heart defect, so her father agrees to help in what was then an experimental procedure. The story weaves in and out from the past to present. The present part of the story is not as compelling. The movie is overtly sentimental, and it moved me. The pace is necessarily slow. Not a great movie, but one which I did not entertain the notion of turning off. That alone, to me, makes it a film to recommend.

Okay this was not a movie that I would usually pick but I was board and decided that I would watch it. As I was watching it I realized that there were scenes that looked familiar to me. It was the university campus that I went to. I realized it had to be Trent University in Peterborough! When the credits came up it said that it was filmed on location at the University. This is one of the main reasons I will keep it in my list of favorites as I love the scenery around the campus. Great choice for location. I felt that the story line of the movie was good too as long as you don't mind flash backs... I like that kind of thing! Some people might find it difficult to follow but if you are interested in science / medical stuff you should enjoy this movie. I wish I knew when this film was shot... it would be interesting to compare the scenery with that of what I remember when attending the university. (for example was the snow real or did they create fake snow like they did for the other movie that was shot on location at Trent - Urban Legends final cut?) I hope you all enjoy the scenery and the medical stuff as much as I did.
