If you ask iconic New York City graffiti artist Phade (better known as Shirt King Phade from the legendary Shirt Kingz) about the current state of hip-hop, he'd more than likely tell you it's alive and breathing and resides in the Bronx, New York.
Whether you agree or disagree, Phade has been around the culture for decades and just like any other passionate hip hop fan is entitled to his opinion. But the difference between Phade and your average fan is Phade has lived the life of a rapper. And his crew, the Shirt Kingz, are his clique.
For those who may not be aware, Phade and the almighty Shirt Kingz carved a name for themselves in hip hop history by hooking up some of the '80s biggest acts with customized clothing. From LL Cool J to Bbd to Biz Markie to Jay-z, you weren't considered

John Murphy has been confirmed as the new composer on board to compose original score music for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming action comedy Kick-Ass. Murphy, whose previous credits include 28 Days Later, Sunshine and Snatch, is the third composer on the project – the two others are Ilan Eshkeri (who scored Vaughn’s previous film, Stardust) and Marius De Vries (best known for his musical direction on Moulin Rouge!), and according to

Secret Identity: Five Actors Who Could Play Hawkeye In Marvel's 'Avengers' Movie

Unless actor Jeremy Renner is getting his information from a parallel universe, it's sounding likely that Hawkeye has a role in Marvel's upcoming movie slate. Still, even Renner is quick to admit that while he's discussed the role with Marvel, he's not a lock for the part.
Assuming the role exists and is still available, it's worth wondering what type of actor would be best-suited for Clint Barton. I don't think the part requires an action hero body, though an athletic physique is a must. Barton also has to be equal parts charming and arrogant without sacrificing his heroic qualities — and he's got to be awesome with a bow and arrow, but that's where pre-production training comes in!
Keeping those prerequisites in mind, I think the following five actors would be right on the mark for Hawkeye.
Bradley Cooper: I already listed Bradley Cooper as a good choice for Oliver Queen,

Two photos from Warner Bros. comic book adaptation The Losers have made their way online.
The film’s log line is as follows:
After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.
Click the images to enlarge.
Whilst the comic itself is quite cool and the talented cast includes Jeffery Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Idris Elba (RocknRolla), Chris Evans (Sunshine), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys), and Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid), I have been very skeptical about this project since Sylvain White took over directing duties.
If you are not familiar with White’s work, he is the man responsible for the atrocities known as Stomp the Yard and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. I will reserve judgement on The Losers until I actually watch the film, or at least a trailer,

Word over the past couple of days that some creatives have been meeting over a new 'Judge Dredd' movie, leading to speculation that a director may be announced soon.
Comic book artist Mark Simpson, who draws under the pseudonym Jock, was reported as having Twittered about a meeting regarding the 'Judge Dredd' film this past weekend, according to Superhero Hype!. Andy Diggle, currently one of the higher-profile scribes at Marvel Comics, is also said to have been present.
No word yet as to what Simpson or Diggle’s involvement in the project would be, but Jock had previously drawn Judge Dredd for the sci-fi publication 2000 A.D. He and Diggle have teamed up before on the DC/Vertigo comic book "The Losers", which has been turned into a film directed by Sylvain White, and will be released in theaters in April 2010.

Danny Boyle Wants Cillian Murphy for '127 Hours'?

Director Danny Boyle's next film will be the story of mountaineer Aron Ralston, famously trapped during a solo expedition for five days and left with no other alternative but to cut off his own arm to escape the situation. It's called 127 Hours, and there was talk Boyle was interested in Ryan Gosling for the role, but now he has apparently shifted his focus to a more known quantity.
News of the World says Boyle's 28 Days Later and Sunshine star, Cillian Murphy, is now the top choice to land the coveted role. I don't know where they got that information or if it's reliable, but I have little doubt that Murphy can bring about as much desperation and emotion to the role as Gosling could, so if it comes down to either actor, that's not a bad problem to have.

There are many theories, ideas or should I say 'schools of thought' on how the world would end. At the height of the Cold War, nuclear annihilation ranks at the very top. While others argue it will not be man who will destroy the world (directly) but - an epidemic of global proportions (most probably from a potent strain of virus - think: I am Legend) or severe climactic change (another ice age perhaps? That would be Day After Tommorow right?) or mechanical uprising (The Terminator, anyone?) or even attack from the outside - conquering aliens (Mars Attacks!) or perhaps an asteroid. And let's not forget zombies!

Danny Boyle's next film is '127 Hours'

Danny Boyle, whose "Slumdog Millionaire" won a ridiculous eight Oscars, is prepping his next project with Fox Searchlight: "127 Hours," a drama focusing on the story of mountaineer Aron Ralston.
Simon Beaufoy, who wrote "Slumdog," is in talks to write the script from a treatment by Boyle. Variety says the plan right now is to have the film ready for release by late 2010.
"127 Hours" is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, who amputated his own limb and rescued himself after his arm got pinned under a boulder for almost five days during a climb in Utah in 2003.
Boyle's directing credits also include "Sunshine," "Millions" and "28 Days Later." "127 Hours" sounds like an intense project, and I'm already interested to see what Boyle ends up doing with it.

Danny Boyle is working once again with Fox Searchlight and he's bringing back his "Slumdog Millionaire" creative team with him.
Their upcoming collaboration is called "127 Hours" about the real-life tale of mountaineer Aron Ralston. You may remember the name, he's the man who nearly died pinned under a boulder during a climb in Utah in May of 2003.
For five days, Ralston's right forearm was under that boulder, so he used a dull knife to amputate himself. Take a look at this video for more of Ralston's story, and then continue reading to find out who's being rumored to play him:
Boyle is set to direct the movie. Production begins early next year for a late 2010 release, just in time for the Oscar season.
The director has written a treatment, and Simon Beaufoy is negotiating to write the script. "127 Hours" will be Boyle's fifth time around with Fox Searchlight. The director

Director Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire) has found his next project with Fox Searchlight: 127 Hours, which will tell the true story of mountaineer Aron Ralston.
Simon Beaufoy, the screenwriter who won the Oscar for Slumdog, will take over writing duties for the film. Variety has the scoop on just what is so dynamic about Ralston’s story:
“Ralston’s right forearm got pinned for nearly five days under a boulder during a climb in Utah in May 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb, then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before running into a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter.”
I remember that happening, and remember thinking it was pretty horrifying. But enough material for a feature film? Well, if anyone can pull it off, it would be Boyle.
The casting process has begun for Ralston,

Judge Dredd, The Fly and Barbarella remakes deemed most pointless

Back in December, it was revealed that a new Judge Dredd movie was to be made in a partnership between Danny Boyle's London-based DNA Films and computer games developer Rebellion, which owns the rights to the character.
However, in January, Boyle seemed unaware of the remake when asked about it and said he couldn't imagine a new version would be any better than the 1995 effort with Sylvester Stallone.
But last month, a Twitter message revealed that visualisations were being created and that Alex Garland was writing, or had written, a "great script" for the project. Garland has previously worked with Boyle on Sunshine and 28 Days Later.
I included the film in a poll that listed a series of proposed remakes and asked which was the most unnecessary.
To my surprise, Judge Dredd came top with 12 per cent of the 1,400 votes cast in the 12 days since the poll started. Is

If you've been catching movies on UK TV recently, you may have seen Quentin Tarantino's introduction to Danny Boyle's Sunshine before the sci-fi film's showing on Sky Movies. Tarantino was full of praise for the space epic ("a suspense masterpiece")... until he came to discuss the picture's much-debated finale. "Once we reach the third act, the script takes a creative nosedive and becomes another 'there's a monster on board killing all the crew [movie]'," Tarantino said. "The feeling I experienced was one of betrayal. The monster development goes against every single aspect of the aesthetic that preceded it." Digital Spy spoke to Boyle recently for Slumdog Millionaire's Dsma victory and although he hasn't seen Tarantino's review, he was happy to give his thoughts on the director's (more)

Movie Review: Pandorum

Starring: Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster.
Director: Christian Alvart
Release Date: September 25, 2009
Running Time: 108 min
MPAA Rating: R
Distributor: Overture Films
- - -
Pandorum is another one of those sci-fi movies that attempts to explore the psychological impact of participating in something that so beyond this world. Unlike Danny Boyle’s Sunshine, or Tarkovsky’s Solaris, where the focus turns to the spiritual and metaphysical, Pandorum is just an attempt at a thrill ride that just happens to take place deep in space.
This film comes to us from German director Christian Alvart. Alvart’s most recent production before this is the German film Antibodies that was actually a decent psychological thriller. American studios liked it so much, they picked up the rights and hired Alvart to make a bastardized Us version (look for it in 2011).
Pandorum takes place on a very quiet, very dark spaceship a few hundred years in the future.
