What does the title mean?

The French word indigènes simply means "natives". The English title Days of Glory refers to the opening lines of "La Marseillaise", the French national anthem: "Allons enfants de la Patrie, Le jour de gloire est arrivé !" ("Arise, children of the Fatherland, The day of glory has come!") It is probably also a reference to Paths of Glory (1957), a film about French soldiers in the First World War.
