Was made as an entry for a comic book convention in which a period is given to comic book fans who make their own home-made videos. After much fanfare and praise by on-line fans DC Comics established that there were to be no more fan made movies to be shown at comic book conventions. Any persons found displaying home-made comic book movies depicting any of their characters will be contacted by their legal affairs department. Despite this fact, Grayson remains a fan favorite movie and continues to be downloaded in record numbers.
Because of the budget requirements John Fiorella made most of the costumes and props. Robin's Batarang is a toy Batman plane, bought at a garage sale for $2 and painted silver. Superman's red shorts are actually a store-bought pair of woman's bikini bottoms.
Fiorella sold his home-made costumes and props on Ebay to help fund the movie.
John Fiorella wrote a full length movie script of Grayson. Since it seemed impossible that he would make this movie, Fiorella made it into a fake movie trailer instead.
