Better Than The Original But Still Misses The Mark

Let's get this out of the way right now, these Suicide Manual movies are complete borefest! I thought I'd be more interested in them because of the dark subject matter that they present but the way the go about it are so uninteresting. Both movies suffer from long drawn out bland scenes. The movies mostly have no music and the most non engaging conversations that have ever been filmed. Most of the characters you barely know or care about. The suicides are mostly shot of screen so you mostly see the aftermath. The movies have a real bleakness to them, and this one definitely uses it to its advantage over the original. Actually everything works a little better here than before. But still not enough to really make this good. And it's a shame because it feels like this movie had real potential. It's got this Ringesque vibe to the story this time and the movie genuinely feels a bit creepy. But the problem lies in that it never feels like it's showing enough or has more of a story to actually engage you or give you a satisfying story. I would say maybe if they made a third film they might get it right next time but in all honesty maybe it's best to end the series right here.
