  • Revealing mistakes: When Nick Angel has thrown Michael into the freezer in the supermarket, there is a close-up on Michael's face. You can clearly see his real teeth behind his prosthetic teeth.

  • Continuity: In the scene when Nicholas and Danny are observing the locals from their patrol car, we see Danny finish his cornetto down to the chocolate tip twice.

  • Continuity: The seats in Simon Skinner's (Timothy Dalton's) light blue Jaguar XK convertible alternate between a pre-2000 model year and a post-2000 model year car - the difference being adjustable headrests.

  • Miscellaneous: When the police officers are outside the supermarket preparing to storm it, it is clear that one of them is holding a bolt action rifle with the bolt opened.

  • Continuity: In a shot preceeding Nick's questioning everyone's eating chocolate cake, Danny Butterman can be seen eating a bit of cake. In the next shot in which he can be seen, there is more cake on his plate.

  • Continuity: When PC Doris Thatcher comes in bringing PC Danny Butterman his birthday cake she is wearing fake boobs over her sweater, seconds later the fake boobs are gone even though she is holding the cake with both hands.

  • Continuity: When Sergeant Angel runs up to the top of the church tower as he opens the door you see the truncated stone pillar on his left, but in the subsequent helicopter shot the pillar is missing.

  • Continuity: During the introduction whilst Sergeant Angel's life in the police is summarised, he says that he was stabbed by "a man dressed as Father Christmas," and when he knocks on the door, you see a scar on his right hand, with which he is knocking, but the flashback of him being stabbed shows "Father Christmas" stabbing him in the left hand.

  • Factual errors: Sergeant Fisher doesn't have stripes on his shoulder badge to denote his rank, even though all the other sergeants in the movie do. His shoulder badge is that of a constable.

  • Continuity: In the scene where Danny is eating an ice cream in the car with Nicholas, the size of the ice cream keeps changing. He eats the last of it, then it reappears, but larger than at the start.

  • Factual errors: On the side of the police vehicles, "Sandford Constabulary" can be seen. On British police cars, the name of the local station would not be present (especially since Sandford is a village). The label, if the cars had them, would be "Gloucestershire Constabulary".

  • Continuity: When Nicholas is leaving the station with all the guns in the end, he turns to talk to the Sgt. in the window and both of the shotguns on his back don't have triggers.

  • Continuity: In the grocery store, after Sgt. Angel has finished accusing Simon Skinner for the recent murders, Skinner begins to clap. When we see him from the front, his hands are bare, but viewed from behind his desk (to see Angel's reaction), Skinner is wearing black gloves.

  • Plot holes: When Nicholas and Danny are fighting the two Shooters in the pub, they successfully injure the husband and the wife calls for the police. The camera moves to the rest of the Sandford Police Service as they enter. The woman behind the bar is only seen briefly in the background after this and there is no further mention of her in this scene.

  • Continuity: When Angel is in Danny's car about to return to Sanford, the cut on his left cheek is missing.

  • Continuity: When Sgt. Angel first approaches his room at the Swan hotel, the camera lingers momentarily on the room door's prominent sign which reads "CASTLE SUITE". Angel hangs up his jacket on a hook, but seconds later he decides to leave. Angel removes his jacket from the hook and opens the door to leave - and the "CASTLE SUITE" sign is gone.

  • Continuity: When the officers are pushing the shopping carts to ram the meat counter, it shows Doris and Sgt. Fisher standing off to the side providing covering fire and when the officers pushing the carts go by they fall in behind. In some subsequent shots Doris and Fisher aren't there and in another they are just falling in behind when they should have already been there.

  • Continuity: All the weapons that were taken from the farm were placed in the evidence room including the mine. When Angel goes to arm himself for the confrontation with the villagers, he grabs two shotguns, and assault rifle, and a few handguns, clearly only a fraction of the weapons that should have been in the evidence room, but when he leaves it is empty.

  • Continuity: At the carnival, after Nicholas Angel shoots all of the little people down with the air rifle, in the background you can see that all of the little people are back up again.

  • Revealing mistakes: At the village fair, Nicholas Angel uses an air rifle to win a carnival game. He is seen firing several shots in rapid succession. However, the type of air rifle he is using is single shot.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Angel and Danny pull over Mr. Blower, Danny should have moved up to the passenger side of the vehicle as he is the cover officer, and not have stood right behind Angel on the driver's side.

  • Revealing mistakes: The swan makes a honking noise, like a goose, although it is a mute swan.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Angel is shooting the little people during the fare he is shooting an air rifle, but you hear shells hitting the ground. An air rifle does not leave shells when firing rounds.

  • Continuity: When Nicholas Angel passes by the tow truck during his morning jog, the two employees in the truck nod at him. However, in the next shot, you can clearly see the driver and passenger seats are empty.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Danny and Nick are chasing the shoplifter over the low row of dark fences, Nick jumps over them but Danny barrels right into the first one. For a brief moment you can see where the left edge had been neatly cut for Danny to crash through cleanly.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: When Nick is fighting all of the villagers his red ammo belts appear and dissapear between shots.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: When Nicholas Angel and Simon Skinner are fighting in the model village, Nicholas grabs Simon's hand, then Nick's hand is on Simon's wrist the next shot, then back to his hand.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: After the community theater performance, the camera moves up the dark backstage hallway and we see the actor's dressing room's dark-painted door. It has a foil six-pointed star (the only bright spot amid the dark colors). The door also has a flat metal "push" handplate. When the murderer arrives, the "push" handplate and the star both are gone; the door at this time has a small brass knob.
