Primary inspirations for animation were Groovie Goolies (1970) and The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991). Thematically, the work was also inspired by the works of Ralph Bakshi, particularly his adult works such as Fritz the Cat (1972) and Heavy Traffic (1973).
Took over four years to complete due to Rob Zombie's commitments to Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009).
