While 24 promised to tell one story in real time each season, the spy thriller's dirty not-so-secret was that each year contained at least two, and sometimes more, different story arcs that were told consecutively and held together with spit, baling wire, and the sheer force of Kiefer Sutherland's performance as Jack Bauer. Sutherland's new series, ABC's Designated Survivor, is being sold as one story, when in fact it's trying to be at least five or six at the same time — some much more interesting than others, and some so frustrating they have me fearing the creative team doesn't think the premise is enough to sustain an ongoing series. That premise provides the best story on the show (it debuts Wednesday night at 10; I've only seen the pilot), and puts Sutherland back in 24-adjacent territory without simply asking him to play Jack Bauer again. Here, he's Hud secretary Tom Kirkman,...

Fall television is weeks away. Do you know what you'll be watching? We're here to help.
We're going to break down the 2016-17 offerings by network and give our first impressions, reasons to watch and share thoughts on the competition.
Conviction - Mondays at 10/9c - Premieres October 3
First Impression: Conviction isn't groundbreaking television. It has a legal procedural element, a dribble of politics and a hint of family drama.
Conviction follows the life of a woman who is well known to the public, who is always waiting for her to screw up.
As the former first daughter of the United States, Hayes Morrison is that daughter, played by Hayley Atwell.
The entire time I watched, I kept picturing someone named Haze. After all, she's a bit (more than a big) of a bad girl.
The job she takes is her penance. The work is thematic after the success of Making of a Murderer.

Tom Brady really let loose at the New England Patriots' Super Bowl ring ceremony in Boston on Sunday night. Not only did the Patriots get what may be the biggest rings in history, but they also wasted no time hitting the dance floor to celebrate their big win. Videos surfaced on Instagram showing Tom and a few of his teammates, including Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, getting down to a few hip-hop hits - the quarterback showed off some seriously hilarious moves while grooving to Migos, Fetty Wap, and Wiz Khalifa, who performed in person at the ceremony. While Tom's wife, Gisele Bündchen, was definitely there with him - she shared an Instagram photo of the two before heading to the event - she may have skipped out on the dancing portion of the evening in favor of letting Tom do his thing. Watch the videos below now.

Last time on Resurrection, the Anti-Returned group stepped up their harassment of the Returned and the families that sheltered them. Janine, Pastor Tom's wife, went a bit off the rails and tricked Rachel into going to her sister's house, and not for a friendly visit. Tom found Janine's diary that documented all the events of her pregnancy, which would be really sweet if she was the one who was pregnant.
Maggie tried to find a cure for the virus by using stem cells from Rachel's amniotic fluid. Marty revealed to Arcadians that he is also one of the Returned. After someone threw tear gas into the church where many of the Returned were gathered, Tom staggered out into the street and Deputy Carl hit him with his car.

Review Billy Grifter 26 Oct 2013 - 20:45
Despite its recent improvement, this week's Revolution takes a nosedive in quality. Here's Billy's review...
This review contains spoilers.
2.5 One Riot, One Ranger
After making some decent headway in the past few weeks, Revolution fell down a few holes of plausibility this week, and seemed incapable of scrambling out.
The major problem, and it had been festering away for some weeks in the background, was how to introduce back Bass into the mix without a long list of people just killing him immediately. It was always going to be a stretch, but the direction that they took ultimately seemed the least credible of all possible routes.
Part of the issue was that Charlie only needed to be saved once to join the Bass supporters club, entirely forgetting that he was responsible for the deaths of her father and brother, and a ton of other people.

The Season 1 finale of "Revolution" brought the world's power back on. The opening moments of Season 2, however, reveal that the fix was far from permanent.
As creator Eric Kripke told fans at Comic-Con in July, the lights go back off rather quickly -- though not quickly enough to save Philadelphia and Atlanta, the two cities Flynn (Colm Feore) targeted with his nuclear missiles. The devastation in those two cities is discussed more than seen in the first two episodes, but based on what is said, it's every bit as bad as you might imagine.
So, on that cheerful note, here are some of the other things you can look forward to seeing when "Revolution" returns at 8 p.m. Et Wednesday (Sept. 25) with an episode titled "Born in the USA."

The Olympic cyclist lived through the genocide and many of his family were killed. Now his achievements are helping to change the way the world views Rwanda – and how it sees itself
There have been a lot of odd moments in Adrien Niyonshuti's life recently. Most of them started when a group of Americans arrived in Rwanda and put on a bicycle race in September 2006. Adrien, a 19-year-old student, won and, as his prize, he was allowed to keep the mountain bike he had borrowed from the visitors for the event. It was a Schwinn, nothing that special by western standards, but exponentially more advanced than anything little, landlocked Rwanda – about the size of Wales but with four times as many inhabitants – had ever seen. He actually didn't ride it very much. No one else in the country had a mountain bike to go with him, so it was dull on his own.

The pilot for Mistresses will undoubtedly draw comparisons to the HBO series Sex and the City. Four girlfriends traversing the complicated world of relationships, only this time the setting is sunny southern California instead of the clubs and fashions of New York City.
Although both shows have their similarities, Mistresses - a remake of a UK series - feels a little more mature. Perhaps it's because half of this gorgeous foursome starts out having already taken the leap into married life.
The women of Mistresses are dealing with the consequences of infidelity, sometimes their own, sometimes done to them... and those consequences aren't always what you'll expect.
Alyssa Milano plays Savannah (Savi) Davis, the central character of our group. Savi and super-hot husband Harry are trying to make a baby and it's taking it's toll. Nothing ruins a couples sex life quicker than taking temperatures and counting days.

Michael Douglas and Demi Moore set the box office alight in the adaptation of Michael Crichton’s Disclosure. But has any film of the 90s aged as badly as this one?
There was a point in the 1990s where Michael Crichton's novel, Disclosure, was something of a must read. This was a book that dared to address sexual discrimination against men in the workplace, from that man who wrote the thing with all the dinosaurs. And thanks to that combination of factors, it shot up the charts and stayed there for a long time.
Also in the 1990s, Michael Douglas was riding high. Off the back of Basic Instinct, he was Hollywood's go-to guy if they wanted someone to have sex while wearing a jumper. And thus, when the movie version of Disclosure came together, in fairly quick time, he was the obvious choice for the male lead.

To recap, TNT's new mini-series Falling Skies is set in a post alien invasion world. Ninety percent of humanity have been wiped out by mysterious crab-like aliens called “Skinners” who are not only pushing the survivors further and further from civilization, but turning captured teens into mindless slaves via a “harness” that attaches to their spines. Many of the survivors have formed a resistance movement which exists in small regiments in several American cities. These soldiers are not only responsible for the protection of civilians amongst them, but gathering food, supplies and intel on the aliens. The series follows a regiment called the “2nd Massachusetts” led by Weaver (Will Patton) recently assigned Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) as his second-in command, who until six months ago was a history professor. Tom not only has two sons with him eight-year-old Matt (Maxim Knight) and sixteen-year-old Hal (Drew Roy), but a third, Ben...

In the third episode of Falling Skies the human insurgents are still in full retreat mode, but have stationed in what looks like an abandoned high school. They teach cellular biology and worry about the flavour of their food when they should be teaching survival skills that will actually be useful when their cans of Lima beans run out.

Kelsey Grammer will cut you.

His character, Tom Kane, has had a very successful run as the leader of the Windy City, and the people like him, but he's also made a lot of enemies and kept his hold on power through occasionally less-than-honorable means.
And also? Tom has a degenerative brain disorder that's starting to affect his work and his life. So that's not good.

Isla Fisher could be cast in Baz Luhrmann's 3D take of "The Great Gatsby" as one of the central characters. At the same time, it's reported that Ben Affleck who has been touted to portray Tom Buchanan may not be in the movie after all.

Tom Brady proves that women young and old can't resist the allure of a shaggy Justin Bieber-style haircut. The New England Patriots quarterback recently opened up about his new "Bieber hair" with the Boston Herald. One of the hottest moments during Sunday's MTV Movie Awards had to be Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez's dance performance. Tom Cruise has gotten some booty smacking from Jennifer Lopez during the live airing of 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Reprising his "Tropic Thunder" role as Les Grossman for the show, the "Top Gun" actor was joined on the stage by the 40-year-old songstress while performing a hip hop dancing routine.
Dressed as his foul-mouthed Hollywood producer character, the "Knight & Day" star first took the stage solo as he started to dance to Ludacris' "Get Back". After a while, J-Lo's hit single "Get Right" began to play and the songstress emerged from under the stage to join Tom for the energetic routine.
Busting their moves, the twosome were seen bumping and grinding their way across the stage. At one point of the highly synchronized set, J-Lo was seen giving a willing Tom some booty spanking. However, when Tom tried to reciprocate, the wife of Marc Anthony ticked him off. All the while,...
