Fun Stuff

Trivia:
Terrence Malick finished the script in the late 1970s, but it lay dormant until 2004. more
Goofs:
Anachronisms: In the early portion of the movie, the natives are shown harvesting corn (Zea maize), the ears of which are far larger than a human hand. At the time of the Jamestown colony, native corn was typically the size of a human thumb, rarely ever bigger. Large corn, such as pictured in the movie, is a product of seed selection and genetic research, mostly done since the 1860s. more
Quotes:
Ben: Captain Newport, sir, I found oysters. They're as thick as my hands. They're the size of stones sir and there's fish everywhere they're flapping against your legs. We're gonna live like kings. more

Separates the "lovers of cinema" from the "average movie watcher".

Yes it is slow. If you view that as a negative then don't go see this.

If you have a passion for cinema, this film is a gift. If you "just like going to the movies", then this film will cure your insomnia. Better to spend your cash on Last Holiday and let true cinema nerds like me take in this masterpiece.

Every. Single. Shot...is a work of art unto itself. I even forgot that I hate Colin Farrell.

Thank you Mr.Malick. I look forward to your next masterpiece a decade from now.
