Susan and Chris are newlyweds. Their living room is no longer bearable. They didn't live together before they were married, so when Chris moved his stuff in Susan realized how bad his taste is. Chris is a cheap guy who thinks $20 is a lot to spend on a table - Susan likes expensive things and thinks his furniture is crap. He saves everything and leaves price tags on display so people can see how much they spent on things ! His taste is "Pottery Barn / Modern" - ? She's not sure what hers is but it's definitely not his.
Bernice and Roderick have been engaged for three months. When Roderick moved into her apartment Bernice made him get rid of pretty much everything he owned. He feels the place is too feminine and there is nothing of him in there. She is a typical East coast girl whereas he is a West coast boy - she is loud and fast, he is slow and laid back. She likes bright colors, he likes black. She keeps everything, he thinks it's clutter. Bernice is a control freak who shoots down all of his ideas. She understands she's going to have to compromise but isn't happy about it.
These three friends' styles could not be more different. All of them have one thing in common : they're loud and opinionated. Halie's style is straight out of "Miami Vice" - bright, tropical and according to the other girls : "BUTT UGLY !" Laura would love "Ethan Allen" to come in and redo the whole place - she's looking for a Wall Street apartment. Marah is the hippie of the group - she is into Asian / Worldly style, like burning incense and dark red colors. They are all represented in the room and it looks bad ! Halie holds the trump card by owning the house, but she hates the conflict and wants her friends to be happy.
