Discovery's More than Human show is an excellent one! First if you are unfamiliar with the show it focuses of the unthinkable things that people can do! The viewer may think these things they do are insane but this really is an incredible show! What they show is real and is not a movie as it may disturb some viewers! The one I am about to comment on is called Shock and Ow!
Shock and Ow! consist on three individuals! A giant sword swallower, a strong man, and a guy who lightning really likes.
Meet George the Giant! He is seven foot three and looks like a normal man. He has a shaved head and has a regular voice. What is so different about him? Why he is a sword swallower! He reveals how he does this old trick from India! They had a camera down his throat as well as x-rays. It really has to do with how his throat is. He demonstrated with a twenty-five inch steel sword and he even profiled in front the camera with the handle of the sword sticking out of his mouth! This was an extraordinary feat by this large man!
Next up is Dennis Rogers, a small man that is five foot six and weighs about one-hundred and sixty pounds! He, like the Giant, has a shaved head and looks normal. He wears glasses and has a goatee! In fact, in My opinion Rogers looks very similar like Joe Pantoliano. Rogers shows how strong he is and he doesn't brag about this either. He says he just says to himself that he can do this and he does these amazing things. He ripped a phone book in half! It was closed and just shredded it like it was a piece of paper! He did the same with a deck of cards behind his back and not one dropped! He bent a ten inch wrench where both ends connected with each other with ease! He folded up a frying pan like a burrito! If this wasn't enough he punch down this wall until it fell over! He grabbed a four each nail and used his brute strength and just pounded it right through a table! He also did the same thing only this time he pounded a nail through a thick frying pan and it went right though the pan and the table! Plus he lifted a weight with one hand that looked like it weighed at least two-hundred pounds! Now comes the ultimate test! The crew of the show had two Harley motorcycles and have two men drive them. Rogers put on two very strong straps around his small but muscular arms and he would stay standing in the middle as the two bikes are about ten feet or so on the sides of him! The result was that the riders drove but they didn't go nowhere. They peeled rubber and drove as hard as they could but little Dennis Rogers would not budge and held this standing position for twelve seconds as they stopped it at that! The pressure of them pulling him was over a thousand pounds! This was an outstanding feat done but this man! Is he the strongest man or person in the world? Is the power in his hands or his arms? Is this it mind over matter? Whatever the case maybe his is more than human which is truly a gift!
Last but not least we have Mark Stinson. This regular guy with a southern accent was struck by lightning not once, not twice, not even three times but four times! Each bolt that hit him are in the thousands! How did he survive such blasts from the sky is really a mystery? This is how and when these deadly events occurred! In 1985 Stinson was in his barn using the sink and it hit him. In 1993 he was underneath his car and striked him again! In the year 2000 it hit him yet again when he was on the phone and the last and final time happened when he was using the fuse box. The crew of the show demonstrated in a studio how it happened. They designed a room like the room in Mark's home. They had an electric devise that would shoot out thousands of bolts similar like lightning and placed a dummy with a phone in its hand. The test fried the phone and went through the wall and burned the mannequin! The combine bolts of electricity that hit Stinson was two point five million bolts! They really don't know why the lightning struck him that many times and how he survived except they say the area has a lot of storms and that he is very, very lucky! Mark Stinson gave some advise to the viewers of the program by simply saying whenever there is a storm stay away from the windows, sinks, and phones. Just find yourself a good chair, relax and wait for the storm to go.
