black girls gone wild gone bad

god awful. the makers of this film bring in Luther Campbell to make people watch it. Luther, back in the late 80's, might have worked. this is 2004, the 2 live crew's notoriety has since passed them by. the writing is horrible. the acting is even worse. except for the frequent show of boobs this movie has nothing worthwhile. the writer tried to capitalize on black films. he tried to bring in attractive young people, similar to the cruel intentions movie. but that movie had legitimate stars and worthwhile writing. this however does not. if you want to see some hot girls naked, watch it. if you want a few cheap laughs watch it. but there really isn't anything to make this worthwhile, if you want nudity, watch girls gone wild!

great movie. don't be a snob. In the tradition of PORKY'S , SAINT JACK and THE KILLERS. Expect one surprise after another. Does the name Kris Kristoferson mean anything to you? Lingers in the mind. Lensing is superior. Hal Hartley minus the pretentiousness. I saw this film in my living room with a blind date , she laughed so hard the contents of her Mohito was shooting out of her nose. Luther is like the Sean Gullette of the rap community. Really the movie's subversive , below the surface ,message is not about Florida or beach parties at all. It is , I believe , a deep satire masked as a summer comedy jam. Like the old Freeman Alley days in Hollywood , when you couldn't say things out loud. you had to bury the message. Peirce the surface and dig the social commentary. Peel slowly and see. The chicks in it are pretty hot too.

Put an 'S' in Front of the Title, and You'll Be Close

When I review a film, I usually take notes. I jot down characters' names, a major plot point, or even a reaction to a scene. These notes can run up to a page or more in my notebook. "Hittin' It!" took just four lines. Chicago college roommates Morris (Walker Howard) and Malik (Maurice Patton) head to Miami for spring break. The duo stay at Malik's Uncle Fredo's crib (I am whack with lingo) while Fredo (Luther Campbell) is out of town. Malik's out of control cousin Eddie (A. J. Johnson) invites himself in and promptly destroys the house with an out-of-control party. The trio must then come up with fifteen large to pay Fredo's interior designer to clean up the house before Fredo returns.

Sure, every sitcom recorded in the last fifty years has done the old "clean up the house before the parents get home" storyline, but I bet you didn't think it could be stretched out to eighty-one excruciating minutes. The young cast is likable enough, and probably could have been funny if they hadn't been handed a script that has fewer laughs than "Schindler's List." When not assaulting the viewer with non-stop bland rap and hip-hop music, the film makers felt the need to offend by making terrible jokes about everyone from homosexuals to Latinos to Chinese food restaurants. It is also hard to imagine that there is more profanity here than a season of "The Sopranos," and a bunch of rejects from "Girls Gone Wild" does not make up for the sheer badness of the film. In all actuality, the film is barely over an hour, but the "Where Are They Now?" segment features supporting players you forgot were in the film, and the song credits at the end of the film is longer than the federal tax code. "Hittin' It!" is devoid of any entertainment value whatsoever.

Funny Movie

This was a good funny movie. I picked this up having not heard anything at all about it. I had no expectations and found a very funny movie that dropped the ball (suprisingly) only a few times. The cast was so-so with the best parts coming from AJ Johnson & Uncle Luke. Luther Campbell basically cursed everyone out through the whole movie, which would've normally have been a major turn off, but it suit the character he was playing to a tee. AJ is that strange little cousin that nobody wants around, but he doesn't seem realize it. The characters Malik & Morris played solid parts, but seemed to be along for the crazy ride with AJ Johnson. A few slow parts but thankfully it doesn't slow down the pace of the movie. It's one of those you'll either love it or hate it type of movies. Don't let the title or the fact that Luther Campbell is in this movie fool you, it's not some toned down adult flick. It's a solid black comedy.
