Hey, I worked on this!
ringneck14 November 2006
I was an extra on this documentary, I think you can see my helmet, elbow, and rifle during different parts, my big break! This is a really different documentary from what is usually shown on HC. The music, re-enactment footage, and the like are well above par.

Story revolves around two US GI's who found some hidden diamonds and decided to keep them as war trophies. They didn't know it at the time but these were "life diamonds". That means that the diamonds were kept by Jewish diamond workers who had been captured by the Nazi's. They had thought these diamonds might allow them to live. They were wrong.

The GI's claimed they had a bad feeling about the diamonds and buried them in a WWI foxhole they were occupying that overlooked a town. The plan was to come back.

One of the GI's, Sam was wounded and sent home and he later found out that his buddy was killed after that. He never went back for them.

Then, later in life he met an Israeli who tracked down Nazi treasure. This man, a real character in and of himself, then spent 20 years tracking down the diamonds.

I won't add any spoilers as to whether they were found or not.

The film company was great. $165 a day for our "acting", $25 per day to cover dinner, a motel, and catered breakfast/lunches.
