On This Week's Show: Neil squeals about Team Jacob in his review of the highly anticipated The Twilight Saga: New Moon while Kevin struts around the Magical Studio in the Sky with no shirt on, desperately hoping people will mistake him for Taylor Lautner. After recounting their harrowing stories of braving the hoards of teenage girls at their respective screenings, Kevin and Neil take a trip to Planet 51 then are Blind Sided by Precious before laying down a Fat Guy Five about awesome vampire/werewolf movies (hint: neither Twilight film makes the list). There's also a bizarre discussion of where Somali Pirates might fit into one of this week's movies... how does that all work? Listen and find out!

I admit, I went into Jj Abrams’ reboot of Star Trek (Paramount, Rated PG-13, Blu-Ray-$39.99 Srp) not wanting to like it, based on my less than enthusiastic view of Abrams’ previous work and a healthy level of fondness for Trek (when it was done right - not in the crap Berman/Braga/Voyager/Enterprise/latter-day films era). So yes, I had to be won

[TV] Drawn Together: The Complete Series - Party In Your Box

Drawn Together represents a microcosm of Family Guy’s career from start to its current agonizing continuation. Family Guy started out with smart, fresh and unexpectedly sharp commentary that rocked people expecting just another weekly animated comedy like The Simpsons; Drawn Together’s first season sparked interest in much the same way and seemed to be the continuation of the Family Guy legacy which had come to an unexpected and unfortunate end in 2003. Thus, the 2004 debut of a crudely hilarious show like Drawn Together, which takes pop-culture icons of the last 80 years and forces them to interact in ridiculous 22-minute-long episodes, seemed like the next logical step of animated television.
And it was. The characters worked in a dual-commentary fashion. Not only did they lampoon the original characters which inspired them but they also took on personalities unique to the show’s story and made new comedy from that. Drawn Together

With the holiday season quickly approaching, it's time for the November rush... which means we're in for a seriously packed DVD release day! When you look at the major releases, the only real blockbuster here is J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, but there are a ton of interesting indie releases and a solid line-up of Blu-ray discs as well. A pair of underperforming comedies hit stores today (Bruno and The Goods) plus Jim Jarmusch's The Limits of Control, Chan-wook Park's vampire drama Thirst, and the Sundance hit Humpday, not to mention the Lil' Wayne documentary The Carter. On Blu-ray, we have new anniversary editions of Fight Club and Gone with the Wind, plus three Kevin Smith flicks, Galaxy Quest, and Leon: The Professional. What's on your shopping list this week?
Star Trek [1] (DVD, Blu-ray [2])
Bruno [3] (DVD, Blu-ray [4])
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard [5]
Thirst [6]
The Limits of Control [7]
Humpday [8]

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.
Who would buy Hammertime on DVD? I'm actually asking. Is that something that you would actually watch again after you've already watched it on TV?
There are some good complete series sets being released this week, though: Andy Richter's Andy Barker, P.I., a Rome gift set, Farscape, and a new box for The Sopranos.

Following in the footsteps of other animated comedies like Family Guy and Futurama, Comedy Central has announced it is developing a movie version of its cult show Drawn Together. The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie! will arrive on DVD in 2010.
The network said that the straight-to-dvd release currently in production will be "the first animated film based on the 'Drawn Together' series." It will be released by Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment in March.
A parody of reality shows with spoofs of several famous types of animated characters, Drawn Together premiered on Comedy Central in Oct. 2004 and aired for three seasons and 36 episodes. It was created by Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser.
In the film, mystery-solving musician Foxxy notices she and her fellow housemates can suddenly curse without being bleeped, they realize that their show has been cancelled and start fighting to get it back on the air.

I kind of, sort of, like Comedy Central's "Drawn Together." It's a twisted cartoon spoofing MTV's "The Real World" and most pop culture icons like Betty Boop, Josie and the Pussycats, etc.
Well, Comedy Central just unveiled their plans to release a film based on the show that is slated to go direct-to-video sometime in 2010.
The plot will revolve around Foxxy, a mystery-solving musician in the vein of "Josie and the Pussycats," who suddenly realized that she and her fellow housemates can curse without being bleeped.
Is their show going to be canceled? Is it doomsday for the "Drawn Together" cast? Is their going to be more cartoon sex in the movie?
Stay tuned...
Comic-Con attendees will hear about the plan from Comedy Central tomorrow, Thursday.

Ending of Bruno Altered Due to Extreme Content

Bruno has already gotten a lot of attention for its controversial depictions of homosexuality, and according to Movieline the movie's original ending would have made things much worse for Sacha Baron Cohen and director Larry Charles. The pair has already suffered the ire of the gay community, even though their proclaimed intention is to mock homophobia.
Spoiler Alert!!! If you wish to see the movie without any prior knowledge, do not read on!
The movie concludes with Bruno making out with his male assistant in an Arkansas cage match, much do the dismay of the onlooking crowd (surprise, surprise). The spectators turn violent and attack the couple, resulting in serious injury. In the upcoming theatrical release, the audience is then shown Bruno and his partner, who happily reunite and decide to adopt a baby. The whole thing ends on an up note with a song supporting gay rights.

Have a question about gay male entertainment? Ask the Monkey!
(Please include your city and state and/or country)
Q: It seems like Robert Pattinson
is attempting to sabotage his own success by talking about his poor
hygiene habits etc. Perhaps he is just being very honest, which is refreshing.
However, I am curious about his sexual orientation. I have seen him
with his friend Tom Sturridge, and they seem very close, but I get the feeling
that he is being told by his agent and the Twilight
machine not to "come out" since his fans are predominantly young
females. Haven't we gotten past all that by now? – Eileen, Gainesville, Virginia
A: First, Pattinson is reportedly straight, having been romantically linked
with Nina Schubert, Katie Leung, and Camilla Belle;
Sturridge is merely his best friend. And actually, I believe him. Why? Because
– as you say – he is so damn honest
