Trivia:

West Ham were approached by the film-makers who wanted to shoot scenes at their Upton Park ground. As they were under the impression that the film was celebrating the glorious game and its fanatical supporters, they agreed. Once they realized the film's true take on the subject (after filming had taken place), they disassociated themselves from the project.

Goofs:

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In one scene Pete Dunham is seen wearing an Adidas track jacket that was made for the David Beckham line. Being such a die hard West Ham fan and being that Beckham played for Manchester United there is no way that Dunham would wear any attire associated with Beckham.

Great Movie

I saw a screening of Hooligans at the SXSW and I was blown away! What a great film. The cast was excellent. The director was superb! Great action and still very profound! This was a great role for Elijah Wood. A very nice departure from his usual roles. Charlie Hunnum was excellent. And Leo Gregory as Bover was awesome. The action scenes were incredible. I couldn't believe this film was directed by a woman. She really portrayed the lifestyle of soccer hooligans realistically. Such a different view than the press gives. I can't wait to see more films by this director! When is this movie going to come out in theaters so I can recommend it to all of my friends?
