Spoofs
Some Like It Hot (1959)
- The scene where Kevin gets out of his drag and pretends to be the rich to hit on the reporter at the beach is a riff on the scene from Some Like It Hot where Curtis does the same to Monroe. Also, Marcus spends an evening being serenaded by a lovesick suitor to buy time for Kevin and the reporter at said suitor's property is taken from Some Like It Hot.
Carrie (1976)
- The scene where the Vandergeld sisters end up with red paint poured on them on a stage, it was an obvious spoof of the pig's blood scene from "Carrie."
