Interesting documentary, 6 December 2005
8/10
Author: spider63 from United States

David Keith provides solid narration, and this documentary basically covers all the bases and the major superheroes and genres from the 1930s until new millennium. The graphics are a bit lame, as comic book panels are constantly being flashed before and during interviews and between scenes. Sometimes the panels reflect great comic book art and have some relation to the person being interviewed. Other times, the relationship between the comic book art and the interviewee is not clearly explained. As an overall primer for someone who is interested in comic book history, this documentary is excellent. Because it covers the entire history of comic books, it is naturally superficial and it did not go into much detail into each generation of comic book creators, genres, and their fans.
