weird movie in a weird place, 28 May 2008

I saw this little movie in a weird little dungeon like place that my friend took me to. pretty cool little movie. it was great to see someone like traveling around with a movie they made. so not Hollywood. didn't know i'd find it on IMDb. but there it was. it was this little black and white suspenseful comedy thing. i think it could have been shorter, but was cool to see such a die hard little engine that could looking kind of movie. I would recommend picking it up on video or DVD, or whatever you can find it on. It gives you a whole new perspective on why people make movies and why the way they did it like in the 70s is just a better idea.
Director's first feature-length work doesn't let you down., 22 July 2003

This "low-budget" film -- the writer/director's first -- is such only in the monetary sense, as compared to hollywood spending. The story displays a strong narrative, driven by the characters, and twists enough to keep your interest, and yet doesn't try to be overly clever or shocking.
I am happy to see a first effort film that didn't take the "easy" route of a goofy comedy or something with shallow characters and traditional scenarios. This movie is about people -- two in particular, but also about the good and bad side in all of us, and the way we some times end up with friends and relationships we can't explain.
An excellent example of how to jump feet-first into filmmaking and land standing.

Hey I remember watching this and during the sex scene the two main characters were standing up and they just showed a shot of their feet and lower legs pumping together kind of rhythmically and lazy - and it matched the characters! karma also had a punch card joke in this film and i got in an argument with the associate producer
i told him - hey you can't call this a film, it was shot on video! but then he explained it's a feature film or a feature, shot of digital video i guess that's OK now it just used to be that that didn't count OK good film overall tho the people in it rock! they rock because they care
