A sad movie
Bryan_Fury_UK20 February 2004
Though this movie will certainly be remembered much more by its numerous erotic scenes, which though carefully choreographed still won't be to everybody's likings, the other its part shouldn't be overlooked however; it deals with love and everyday problems of life being spent together. Overall, it's a sad story about love between two people and their up's and down's while they are together swimming through everyday life. Worth looking just for the end itself if not for anything else. 7/10

softcore erotica with a serious side

a lot of Asian cinema will show erotica within a horror context (many pinku films) or zany comedy (Sex and Zen). More rare are the ones that show erotica within a drama context. This is one of those.

It focuses on a woman who embarks on a torrid fling with a man she just met. While they're introducing each other she's already fantasizing about getting hot and heavy with him. After their second bout of love making he asks her if they can go steady.

The film follows the progression of their relationship from giggling, amorous lovers, to a more problem filled stage to the point where the lady cheats on her boyfriend with an ex.

It's a serious film filled with sex. The plot and characters are probably enough to drive the film without the sex scenes. Unlike the other Korean film I've seen (Summertime) the sex scenes don't play an integral part to the characterization in this movie. So they feel a little bit like an extended add-on to the movie. however, the scenes are erotically shot, highly charged, and it helps that both protagonists are very attractive.

The entire film is well shot, well lit, and it looks like they actually cared about quality. Some parts that defied my understanding though is the scenes where the girl asks her newfound friend to 'come inside' her and yet after the deed is done asks him why he did that. And the other scene where she removes his rubber. The sex scenes definitely do look realistic based on the angles at which they are against each other, their muscles tensing and relaxing, and the expressions on their faces. Great acting or the real thing?
