We have some terrible news to share with you all this evening, especially if you're a fan of the Dawn Of The Dead remake or 300. It was announced today that Zack Snyder will Not be directing the massive zombie pic Army Of The Dead, instead Warner Bros. has signed commercial director and visual artist Matthijs van Heijningen to make his feature directing debut on the action thriller that takes place in zombie-infested Las Vegas. The good news is that Zack Snyder will still be on board with Deborah Snyder to produce under their Wb-based Cruel & Unusual Films banner. The script by Joby Harold (writer and director of "Awake") focuses on a father who tries to save his daughter from certain death in a zombie-ridden Sin City.

FEARnet just announced that they'll be premiering 30 Days Of Night: Dust To Dust, the sequel to last years popular webseries Blood Trails at the San Deigo Comic-Con in July. The shorts will then appear exclusively on their website. Even cooler is the cast filled with genre vets! Saw's Shawnee Smith toplines Dust To Dust, with Ken Foree (the original Dawn Of The Dead) and Ted Raimi (The Grudge, Skinner) making appearances as well.

The story revolves around Detective Nick Maguire who has the unenviable job of tracking down his missing sister Sara, who’s come into the custody of Blood Trails protagonist George—the ex-junkie framed for murders committed by a clan of New Orleans vampires. The series is produced by FEARnet and Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Productions.

The new zombie flick is currently shooting in Serbia (!) and stars genre vets Ken Foree (Dawn Of The Dead), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie's Halloween), as well as Emilio Roso, Vukota Brajović, Ariadna Cabrol, Miodrag Miki Krstović and Iskra Brajović.
