Not too interesting for me, partially from a subjective perspective

Here we have "The Gallery", a German/Dutch co-production from 2003. The Dutch aspect comes from director Jos Stelling, who won many awards in his long career, while the German component is probably by producer Regina Ziegler and maybe you have heard of her and her short film project about movies with a slightly erotic background, but not really explicit, that do not include any dialogue at all. It is never about what you hear, but much more about what you see and feel I suppose as most of the time you will feel similarly to the central character, a male here who is smitten by the beauty of a blonde femme fatale. As for me, the woman does not do too much I must say and this eventually even turns into a negative deal breaker for the entire film. Another problem is that to me it also feels mediocre at best story-wise and drags a lot. The absence of spoken words is not exactly a plus here. Lead actor Gene Bervoets is decent I would say, not great, but definitely among the better components of the film. Still he cannot keep the movie from dragging unfortunately and I'd have preferred it to run for slightly under 20 minutes instead of slightly under 30. All in all, this is definitely not among the best efforts from the Ziegler erotic film series. I give this one a thumbs-down overall and suggest you skip the watch. Only good thing is maybe that you won't need any subtitles, but this alone is obviously not reason enough to watch it. Go for something else instead.
