Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Note: The number at the beginning of each section refers to how much explicit content of that kind there is in the film on a scale of 1-10. The fraction at the end of the last section is the total sum of the sections over the highest sum possible (50) and is therefore an approximation of about how explicit the film is a whole.

Sex & Nudity: 4

A woman wears a very short skirt that reveals stocking tops and garters, as well as a short top that reveals her bare abdomen and cleavage.

There is a very quick shot of Goebbels having sex with his mistress from behind (but no actual nudity). The scene is meant to be comical but is still a little graphic.

very little sexual content but the one very brief scene is a bit crude and somewhat graphic, although is comical and only lasts a few seconds.

Violence & Gore

Violence & Gore: 10

some scenes of violence, sometimes a bit graphic but not too strong compared to other titles out there.

it is implied that several people are shot offscreen. (not shown but a bit intense)

a woman is seen running away from armed soldiers.

some brief images of scalping. (not too graphic and briefly shown)

a man is killed with a baseball bat, several hits are shown but most are shown from a distance.

a man is shot.

several brief images of people getting assasinated in graphic manners.

it is implied that a man is branded with a knife offscreen but a scar is shown.

a shootout occurs in a pub with numerous people getting killed and blood spraying, brief but graphic. and a man is shown to be briefly stabbed.

a man is shot several times.

a brief flashback scene showing a man getting whipped.

a woman's gunshot wound is shown in her leg and blood is seen she is briefly interrogated and a man touches the wound. a bit bloody but short.

a woman is strangled brief but disturbing.

2 people shot at each other and both are shot and killed with blood shown.

2 people are shot close range.

several images of people getting shot in a movie screen.

a fire occurs and numerous people start shooting at a group of people, brief bloody and graphic gunshots are shown and many characters killed. very intense sequence.

a man is has a symbol branded on his forehead with a knife, brief but graphic.

overall the movie does contain some violent sequences and graphic images but considering the duration of the film and frequency of such scenes it is not too strong. i would recommend for 15 and up. although the movie contains long dialogue sequences that could bore younger audiences.

Profanity

Profanity: 7

25 f-words, normally limited to outbursts in a few scenes. In addition, an anatomical insult, 10 s-words, and another 10 religious profanities round out the count.

the language is very infrequent.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 3

Smoking and drinking throughout, including a scene taking place in a pub where a few people are very drunk. Also Brad Pitt's character sniffs powdered snuff in many scenes.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 7

This movie is very intense in some parts.

some scenes graphic violence COULD be very disturbing to some viewers.

The opening scene may be intense for some.

The shoot out scene in the pub where several die may be intense for a lot.

Jewish people might find the film unsettling at some points, as it is about world war II and one of the main characters is a survivor of an attack on her family by Nazi's.

An idea of how accurate the TECE (below) is: 5-10 is a little-kid suitable, G-Rated type of film (i.e. Care Bears, Sleeping Beauty); 10-15 is going to be a little harsher, but not by much (i.e. The Incredibles); 15-20 could be pretty high up there (i.e. Indiana Jones), 20-25 is going to pretty darn adult (i.e. The Dark Knight); 25-30 is going to be a film most likely not suitable for anyone under 17 (i.e. Braveheart); 30-40 is going to be an absolutely, positively adults-only film (i.e. THIS) and if a movie has ever gone past 40, then I haven't heard of it.

Total Explicit Content Estimation: 31/50.
