Awesome making. Mind blowing acting by Dolly Anwar and Rowshon Jamil. This movie depicts the struggles and post-famine financial crisis in Bengal in the middle of 20th century. A divorced woman with two children face serious troubles when the local landlord develops a keen interest on her. Being ignored, religious fanaticism and superstitions are used as retaliation. Surja Dighal Bari won the Bangladesh National Film Award in 7 category including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress in the 5th Bangladesh National Film Award. Surja Dighal Bari is directed and produced by Sheikh Niamat Ali and Masihuddin Shaker. The screenplay was based on Abu Ishaque's 1955 novel of the same title. It was the first film made from the Government of Bangladesh grant. The film was first released in a theater in Natore. A must watch for all.
