Rodolfo and Olivia bring life to this mystery!

Warning: Spoilers
This movie really requires two viewings to truly appreciate it. At first it suffers by its minimal budget and you think you're watching a telenovela instead of a movie. There is very little action and a multitude of dialogue which really slows it down. But the story, which should be categorized as a mystery is in fact pretty good. The plot, concerns a wife(Olivia Collins, who outdoes herself in wardrobe changes)killing her wealthy old husband and later being driven to near madness by suggestions that her marriage partner might not be dead after all, is nothing new. But as the film progresses we are given additional clues and find that the story might not be going where we expected it to. Wasn't the man(Rodolfo de Anda)who is helping the wife, shot dead point blank earlier in the picture? If he is in fact trying to incriminate her, why does it seem that he loves her? The acting by Olivia and Rodolfo are first rate. If the ending hadn't been so good, perhaps the movie might not be so memorable, but the grand finale is one of the best! Mexican movies often have a band or two lurking around, but not in this one. Perhaps they couldn't afford one. Instead a recording is used in one scene to facilitate some dancing, in which Ms. Collins participates and excels in some solo dance moves. For those interested in classical music, Serge Rachmaninoff's Concerto #2 in C Minor, Opus 18 for piano and orchestra plays a vital part.
