Chris Rock Talks 'Merry Madagascar'

17 November 2009 11:51 AM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

Tonight on NBC at 8Pm, Dreamworks present another Christmas special in the vein of 2007's success, "Shrek the Halls". This time, it will be the animals from Madagascar that will usher in the holiday season with "Merry Madagascar." Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman find themselves working hard to deliver toys once Santa Claus crash lands on their island and develops amnesia. Besides pleasing some anticipating kids, they set there eyes on using Santa's sleight to return to New York (but don't bet on that one, because there's a Madagascar 3 in the works with a rumored plot to return to Central Park). Last week, we hopped on a conference call with Chris Rock, voice of Marty. So it seems like nowadays a lot more adult content comedians are jumping into family projects. What for you is the appeal in doing a crossover like this? Chris Rock: I mean, well I'm obviously already in, »

Rumor has it, Victoria Adams will once again spread her wings in big screen. After playing herself in 1997 film "Spice World", the British star has been reported joining "Madagascar 3" to provide a new character's voice.

Talking about the reason why Adams decided to sign on for the animated movie project, a source close to the former Spice Girls member said, "It is like nothing she's done before. Her three boys loved the first two movies." However, it is not yet known whether or not the wife of footballer David Beckham will speak in her English accent for the third "Madagascar" film.

If the report is true, this will not be the first time Victoria Adams provides a voice for an animated project. She has lent her voice to Queen Amphitrite, a character in hit kids TV show "SpongeBob SquarePants", in an episode which is scheduled to be aired in summer »

'Twilight' Actors Without Clothes, The 'New Moon' Premiere And Dog Accounts In Today's Twitter-Wood

6 November 2009 4:30 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

The Twitter-Wood feed started following its first canine today, as recent hacking victim and "Eclipse" actress Jodelle Ferland tweeted a pic referencing her dog "Genevieve Ferland." According to @gena_fur's Twitter account, Genevieve recently turned five, hates nail clippers and dressed as a princess last year for Halloween.

Lack of clothing was on the minds of two other "Twilight" series actors, though, as Tinsel Korey seems to have not yet found a dress for the "New Moon" premiere, and Charlie Bewley reported on his love of not wearing anything. Remarkably, I made none of this up. Check it out, along with an award Arnold Schwarzenegger recently presented to Kirk Douglas, a scandalous "Full House" photo and the reason "Iron Man 2" will show up to theaters late if it gets delayed. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 6, 2009.

Writer Found For ‘Men In Black 3′

30 October 2009 4:45 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Back in April we reported on news from the Sony ShoWest presentation that the studio was developing a script for a third Men in Black movie, something which built on the rumors from over a year ago that franchise stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were interested in suiting up for some alien escapades once more. Fast forward to now and an update has come out that Men In Black 3 has found its writer in the form of Tropic Thunder screenwriter, Etan Cohen (not to be confused with one half of the famous Coen brothers, Ethan).

Variety is reporting that Columbia Pictures (which Sony owns) has tapped Cohen to pen the script, but beyond that no deals have been made for either Smith or Jones to reprise their roles. Although I’d be very surprised if the studio didn’t have talks going on with the two stars »

'Men in Black 3' Has Scribe

29 October 2009 9:30 PM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

Men in Black was pretty entertaining, as well as a big money-maker for Columbia Pictures. On the other hand, the sequel may have been profitable, but it was about as much fun as an alien rectal probe.

Here’s hoping the third 'Men in Black' installment falls somewhere between those two. According to Variety, Columbia has hired Etan Cohen to pen Men in Black 3, adding to the list of high-profile assignments currently sitting on the comedy writer’s desk.

Cohen has a Sherlock Holmes project with Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell in development at Columbia. His recent output includes Tropic Thunder, which was both critically acclaimed and a box office hit last year, as well as the animated Madagascar: Escape to Africa. Cohen also wrote Idiocracy and for the television show King of the Hill.

“When my son started to get to the age of liking jokes, every one we would make involved pee or poop or farting. We thought, ‘Oh my God, we’ve raised a frat-house monster.’ Then we took a »

Disney Buys Marvel, DJ Am Remembered And A 'Twilight' Actor Eats A Horse In Today's Twitter-Wood

31 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Disney surprised a lot of tweeters this morning when the company announced its acquisition of Spider-Man and X-Men publishers Marvel Entertainment. Kevin Smith, Jeff Katz, Dax Shepard, and many others chimed in with thoughts on the purchase.

Elsewhere, the tweets are still trickling in from those remembering DJ Am, including renowned Vegas party-goer Paris Hilton. The list of tweets today was actually fairly thick to sort through, with all of these reactions, a photograph of a "Twilight" star biting into a horse and Bob Saget's response to a fan's request for him to tell the "Aristocrats" joke on Twitter. It's all below in the Twitter-Wood Report for August 31, 2009.

John Stamos Says Have Mercy In Today's Daily TwitPic

28 August 2009 6:00 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

I snapped yesterday, readers. Warmoth clearly has an unnatural fixation on former "Full House"/"ER" star John Stamos. Look, I like Jesse and the Rippers as much as the next child of the '80s, but this madness has to stop. And so, in the interest of bringing your Daily TwitPics some variety, I put a temporary moratorium on Stamos-centric TwitPics. Warmoth tells me that Ice-t and Rose McGowan's puppy will benefit. Have mercy indeed...

So. Today's TwitPic. To be honest, I think I missed something here. Stamos and his fellow former "House" star Bob Saget had some sort of exchange involving dates and tattoos. I can't tell if these inked wrists belong to Stamos, or if they're some adoring fan showing an appreciation for Uncle Jesse. In the hopes that one of you is smarter than me -- not a challenge, I assure you -- I've included the related tweets after the jump, »

'Machete,' Kristen Bell Gets Hacked And The Uncle Jesse Tattoo Revealed In Today's Twitter-Wood

27 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

As you may recall from yesterday's Twitter-Wood, John Stamos called upon one of his Twitter fans to post a photo of his alleged Uncle Jesse-based tattoo. Well today that tweeter responded in kind, and the wrist tattoos are linked to at the top of the report for all to see now.

In other tweets, Robert Rodriguez gleefully celebrated his confirmed actors for "Machete," calling out Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro. As it turns out, the director has his own Twitter fan in Dane Cook, who's read the script. Kristen Bell, meanwhile, claims to have been reading "hacked" tweets coming out of her account. In what may be a related event, Dax Shepard called out a poser using the fake name @IMkristenBeII (note how two upper case i's can resemble two lowercase L's), who tried to break up with him. Tom Felton On Joining 'Get Him to the Greek' And John Stamos' Birthday In Today's Twitter-Wood

Tom Felton sounds like he'll be lightening up his mood a bit for his next non-"Harry Potter" project. The normally moody-on-screen actor who plays Draco Malfoy will be jumping into Jonah Hill's "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" sequel "Get Him to the Greek" alongside Hill and Russell Brand, according to his Twitter updates.

Elsewhere in our feed, the Twitter-Wood report joins John Stamos' former "Full House" cast members Bob Saget and Dave Coulier in wishing the well-groomed actor a happy birthday. The "ER" star's own bday post snagged today's Twitter Pic of the Day, which I've inserted below via Saget's re-tweet and well-wishing. If you ever wanted to see how great Stamos' hair looked early on in life, now is your chance. Check it out, along with Richard Kelly's computer problems, an explosion from F. Ferrell, Pitt and Hill Join Cast of ‘Oobermind’

18 August 2009 12:45 PM, PDT | The Flickcast | See recent The Flickcast news »

DreamWorks Animation’s Oobermind has enlisted three new superheroes, with Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill  lending their voices to the animated comedy. Variety reports that Ferrell is replacing Robert Downey Jr. in the title role of a supervillain whose dastardly dreams come true after defeating good-guy rival Metro Man (Pitt). Finding life boring without an adversary, Oobermind creates Titan (Hill), a superhero who also wants to be a villain, forcing Oobermind to switch sides.

The three actors join the already signed Tina Fey, who voices the reporter tasked with keeping track of the city’s confusing superhero situation. Oobermind will be directed by Tom McGrath, co-helmer of the popular Madagascar franchise. The project would have marked the first major animation role for Downey, Jr., who exited due to scheduling conflicts.

Oobermind will be released in Fall 2010 and will be distributed in stereoscopic 3-D. »
