The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

As stated in the film synopsis, automated sex dolls play a key role in the film's plot. In spite of this, however, there is no explicit sexual content or dialogue. One of these dolls is briefly depicted with human-like bare breasts. More frequently, the androids are nude but anatomically incorrect, without human-like "skin" covering their bodies and making them appear to have human bodily features.

Violence & Gore

The aftermath of several gruesome murders are described and briefly shown onscreen (bloody, mutilated corpses are visible, but obscured, for only a few seconds at a time). Several scenes also depict intense combat with guns and/or martial arts between humans and androids or humans and other humans. A number of characters are shot, and in one scene several are beheaded, all with realistic amounts of blood.

Profanity

Both English dialogue and subtitles contain several uses of the words "damn", "hell", "bastard" and "shit".

One scene depicts a character chain-smoking.

In addition to several intense action sequences and violent images, the film contains numerous instances of surreal and unsettling imagery, many of them involving eerily human-like dolls. In several scenes the dolls' faces burst apart suddenly to reveal mechanical insides; the pacing and timing of these scenes may make them startling or frightening to younger viewers.
