- Continuity: In almost every scene with Lanning's cat, her eyes are blue. But When Spooner jumps in the fountain, the cat's eyes are yellow.
- Continuity: When Spooner and the Lieutenant are drinking in the bar, the position of the label on the Lieutenant 's bottle changes repeatedly with each switch in angle.
- Continuity: After the tunnel chase, Spooner is examining is ankle. From his POV, his legs are open. In the next shot, his right leg is crossed under the raised left leg.
- Continuity: When Spooner first finds Sonny in USR, he pulls out a large gun from his shoulder holster, which later gets knocked out of his hands, causing him to grab his smaller, back-up weapon from his ankle holster. After chasing Sonny out of USR, Spooner holsters the smaller gun in his shoulder holster and it fits perfectly, and then picks up the larger weapon off the ground. Additionally, after Spooner and Dr Calvin arrive at the factory in search of the renegade robot, He reaches into his side holster and pulls out his original larger weapon - even though at no time do we see him transfer his backup gun back to his ankle holster.
- Revealing mistakes: When Spooner is driving back into town on his motorcycle, there are several shots that show that the cars on the road have conventional tires rather than the ball type wheels that they're supposed to have. These cars have the ball wheel props added to their fenders, but the standard tires remain visible underneath.
- Continuity: When Spooner lands in the water after the robot has torn down Lanning's house there is no sign of a cut on Spooner's head (his right side). When he appears at Calvin's door he has a cut on his head (his right side) and blood that has run down the side of his face.
- Continuity: When Spooner scans the crowd outside USR after Sonny runs away, you can see the gun on the floor with no blue footprints behind it. When he looks down at the floor, footprints are seen before the gun is shown.
- Revealing mistakes: When the robots are attacking Spoon and Dr. Calvin as they are trying to shut down VIKI, a long shot of Spoon shows him shooting at robots all around him and running. For a split second, his head separates from his body, revealing that he's CGI.
- Continuity: When Dr. Calvin first goes into her lab to question Sonny, she has to go down several steps. As the camera angle switches from back to front, she takes four steps down. However, there are clearly only three steps.
- Continuity: Sonny tries to hide in a perfectly-spaced array of 1,000 robots. Apparently, he can enter random spots in the array without affecting the regular spacing, even though the other robots do not move.
- Errors in geography: After the criminal mastermind is unmasked in Robertson's office, Spooner, Dr. Calvin and Sonny can be seen on a much lower floor (the buildings through the windows in the background are now taller than the floor they are on). They would then need to climb back up at least 40 floors in order to reach VIKI who is now above them, when VIKI would have been their initial destination in the first place after leaving the office.
- Continuity: When Spooner's saving Farber from the robots, he leaves Dr. Calvin behind as he drives forward on his motorcycle. He seems to cross a pretty good distance, even making a turn in the process. Yet, moments after 'leaving' the motorcycle, Calvin is able to gun down a robot that has snuck up on him. Even taking blind luck into account, there's no way she could be close enough to hit anything with a random spray.
- Continuity: During the tunnel chase, when Spooner is in between the two trucks, the first truck moves to block him from overtaking it and the camera shows its red brake lights broken off and the corner of the truck is damaged, but when Spooner eventually overtakes it in the following scenes, the brake lights are back and the truck has taken no visible damage
- Continuity: When Sonny smashes the desk with his fists, it leaves two deep fist impression on the desk. But in the next shot, the desk is perfectly flat.
- Continuity: The first robot that jumps onto Spooner's car in the tunnel chase grabs Spooner's gun as he is shot off the hood. Later, Spooner shoots another robot in the same scene with that same gun.
- Errors in geography: The story takes place in Chicago, but right before the scene of Spooner and John getting drinks in a bar, the sign next door to the bar suggests, in Chinese, that the place is in Canada.
- Continuity: Near the end of the movie in the scene where Sonny is on his way to getting the nanites, he is running through the hallway and is intercepted by two NS-5's; one NS-5 slams Sonny against the wall and clearly shatters the glass of the light within the wall, leaving shards of glass visible on the ground for less than half a second; in the next immediate scene the shards of glass are not there.
- Continuity: When Spooner first arrives at Lanning's house, he gets out of his car and the car door is seen closing very slowly. A second later, the camera angle changes and the car is seen in the background with the door completely closed.
- Continuity: After Spooner and Calvin determine they have to reach Robertson's office at the top of the NSR building, Sonny, while with them advises there are "2,880 stairs" to climb. Most people tire after 50 stairs or so, but Spooner and Calvin climb these stairs in a matter of seconds, and are not tired at all. Even with resting, it would take almost two hours to climb that many stairs and even someone in perfect physical shape could not do it in one go, let alone in ten seconds - the time between them arriving at Robertson's office from the service area where they entered the building.
- Continuity: Sonny jumps out of the window and runs off, and Spoon and Calvin appear from the building what seems to be only seconds later (or, in this future, it's normal for a gun to remain sitting on the ground in a public street for several minutes with nobody touching it, and for a steady stream of pedestrians to carefully avoid stepping in and smearing little blue stains on the ground).
- Continuity: During the scene in the bar, we see Spooner drinking a beer before his superior sits down to join him. At this time the bartending robot says, "round 2?" and sets down two more beers for Spooner and the lieutenant. But when Spooner goes to pay for the beers the tally shows '2 BEERS' $46.50 when in fact it should be for 3 beers.
- Factual errors: When Spooner takes Calvin pillion on his bike (an MV Agusta F4-750 SPR), she appears to have her feet on pillion footpegs. The limited edition SPR model is a single seat model and has neither pillion seat or footpegs.
- Factual errors: The suspension bridge is shown as a single tower with a short section of roadway and some cabling. In suspension bridges, the main support cabling is anchored at each end of the bridge, with the vertical cables supporting the roadway (which isn't actually anchored to the towers). If the anchors at the ends are removed, the whole main support cable will fail, and in turn so will the vertical cables and the entire roadway will collapse. The situation shown is therefore impossible.
- Revealing mistakes: When Dr. Calvin and Detective Spooner are in the robot warehouse, she states that there are 1,001 robots there, when in fact there are clearly more than 1,001 robots present.
- Continuity: In the big hall with the 1000 NS-5 robots you can, if you start counting, easily see that there are way more than 1000 robots visible.
