Matt Damon vs. Leonardo DiCaprio: Whose South African (and Southie) Accent is Better?

From a casting agent’s perspective, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio are as good as it gets. Not only can they both carry a movie, but they immerse themselves totally in their parts. Both, too, have displayed an impressive range: Damon can play an amnesiac superspy (The Bourne Identity) as convincingly as a slap-happy Siamese twin (Stuck on You), and Leo can embody a mentally retarded teen with the same ease as he can Howard Hughes (The Aviator). Finally, both have shown a willingness to learn accents, which opens up a slew of casting possibilities. The question is, which one has a better knack for it? If said agent were casting the part of a lisping Tasmanian eunuch, for instance, which actor would he rely on to nail the inflections? There are two particularly tricky accents we can compare them on: South African—which Damon uses in Clint Eastwood’s

Quietly and unexpectedly, Matt Damon has become the premier Hollywood actor of the past decade. He's lent his minutely constructed, surprisingly athletic performances to the films of directors Steven Soderbergh, Gus Van Sant, Paul Greengrass, Martin Scorsese and Clint Eastwood, a roster that's not coincidentally produced some of the most vital and successful films of the past ten years.
His remarkable career isn't simply a matter of a good agent. It's all in the manner in which he so carefully adapts his particular skills to the roles.
Damon's commitment is displayed on his body, which he relentlessly crafts to the specifications of each character -- he's almost the anti-movie star in his physical malleability. Take a look at how he changes from "The Bourne Identity" in 2002 to the Farrelly Brothers' "Stuck On You," a year later. In the former, he carved himself down to muscle and bone, a tightly packed

Matt Damon -- Some of My Movies Suck

Even Matt Damon knows his IMDb is soiled with a few stinkers -- because let's face it, not every movie can be "The Departed." Matt admitted his shortcomings yesterday after a photog in New York sucked up to him by saying, "You've never made a bad movie in your whole life." The "Stuck on You" and "The Brothers Grimm" actor quickly called Bs on the guy ... literally ... by saying, "That's bulls**t."

Wham! Did that get your attention? Yes, we too are intrigued by this exclusive peek at the next Matt Damon bit that will air Sept. 15 on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!. It appears that Damon is administering some sort of fist justice to his old nemesis, parking lot security guard Guillermo, who's impersonating Damon’s whistle-blower character in the new Steven Soderbergh comedy/corporate thriller The Informant!, which hits theaters on Sept. 18. But what do you think is happening this picture? Is Damon reacting to news that there will be a Stuck on You sequel? Or does a painful 'stache just bring out the bad-ass in him? Punch in your best guess below.

I.ve
admired Timothy Olyphant since his roles in High Life, Hitman and
The Girl Next Door. Not only
is he easy on the eyes, but he has a spectacular gift for infusing
humor in the bad-guy role he embodies.
You just can.t help but love him!
I can.t say that I was all that familiar with Kiele
Sanchez, who.s had parts include Stuck On You and Insanitarium.
However, I totally understand why she

Cher and Christina Aguilera have signed up to star in contemporary musical Burlesque, reports Variety. It will be Aguilera's first movie acting role, while it is Cher's first big screen outing since 2003 Farrelly brothers comedy Stuck On You. Aguilera will play a small-town girl from Iowa who "comes of age" when she gains employment in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard. The venue is run by Tess (Cher), an ex-dancer who is struggling to keep the club running. Cher (more)

Has your life seemed dull, drab and empty? Do you find that food lacks flavour, flowers lack colour and birdsong isn’t quite as sweet as it once was? Don’t worry – scientists have traced this back to the absence of Cher from the big screen. Luckily, help is at hand – for she’s back back back! The Oscar-winning actress, whose last movie was the Farrelly Brothers’ comedy, Stuck On You, waaaaay back in 2003, has signed on to star alongside Christina Aguilera in a new musical called Burlesque. And now the world can truly be happy again.Cher – who’s currently knocking them dead in Vegas – will play Tess, a former dancer who runs a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard. With Sean Penn Out, Who Should Play Larry In ‘The Three Stooges’?

As we’ve already reported, Sean Penn and Hollywood are breaking up. Or at least going through a trial separation. One of the consequences of this newly announced hiatus is Penn’s departure from the Farrelly Brothers’ “The Three Stooges,” a film that’s now in jeopardy thanks to the actor’s sudden exit.
With the role of Larry now open, it’ll be up to a last-minute replacement to save the film. So who in the movie business could possibly jump in at the eleventh hour to knock noses and poke eyeballs with Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro? It remains to be seen — but I’ve certainly got my picks.
Matt Damon: Casting Sean Penn as Larry was certainly unexpected given the actor’s Oscar cred. If the Farrelly Brothers wanted to pursue a similar avenue with the new Stooge, I’d recommend they consider Matt Damon.

No, it's not going to be the third "Batman" flick but a comedy co-starring Johnny Knoxville.
This time, the diva is going to embrace her inner Cougar!
The film is titled "The Drop-Out" and tells the story of a 35-year old college student (played by "Jackass'" Knoxville who's been kicked out of his parents house. Now, he must get into the good graces of the 62-year old woman (I'm thinking Cher?) living next door.
Cher has always been good in comedy, and yes, she even won a Best Actress Oscar for "Moonstruck."
She hasn't made a movie since 2003's "Stuck On You," so this is a welcome treat for her fans.
My only concern? It's written and will be directed by Ricky Blitt who gave us the underwhelming comedy, "The Ringer."
So hopefully, this is a better-written script, and yes, better-directed!

Cher's Coming Back to the Big Screen -- Opposite Johnny Knoxville

Cher hasn't been seen on the big screen since her brilliantly self-effacing cameo as herself in the underrated Stuck On You. This is a shame, because despite being the butt of many jokes, Cher is actually kind of awesome. She just has that intangible aura of cool -- which may seem like a strange thing to say about someone who dresses like this, but what are you gonna do. The rumors that Cher was going to play Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's third Batman film were stupid as a factual matter, but it was by no means a bad idea.
Well, Cher is finally returning to the big screen, co-starring, for better or worse, with Johnny Knoxville -- which has already prompted the ever-so-clever staff at The Hollywood Reporter to ask if you've heard "the one about the Cougar and the Jackass." (No, I haven't -- what's the one about the Cougar and the Jackass?

I know it sounds like an odd pair, but Johnny Knoxville and Cher are in talks to star in Ricky Blitt's comedy "The Drop-Out."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film "tracks the fortunes of a 35-year-old career college student (Knoxville) who is finally kicked out of his parents' house.
Desperate, he decides to get in good with the 62-year-old woman next door (Cher), so he can keep his food, couch and TV regimen intact. In the mix is the woman's ne'er-do-well son, who is looking for a father figure, even if it's a guy his own age."
"The Drop-Out" marks Blitt's directorial debut. He also wrote 2005's comedy "The Ringer," which also starred Knoxville.
Knoxville is currently producing MTV's new show "Nitro Circus." As for Cher, she was last seen in Bobby and Peter Farrelly's "Stuck On You."
Knoxville and Cher together in one film... can you believe it?
