Sex & Nudity

  • An unwed man and woman passionately kiss, and then they go to bed for sex but the movie goes to the next scene promptly.
  • A lot for PG. After the sex scene they wake up in bed in the morning and jump out of bed and the woman covers her body with a blanket as she sits up... her legs are up on the bed and you can see a lot of skin but nothing specific. then she puts on a mans button up shirt that still shows a lot of leg
  • Facing away at a distance, an Inuit girl is shown nude, but the man's view is so blurry you can't see anything. A man is bathing nude in a lake, and when a Inuit girl takes his clothes to mend them, complaining he stands up with his hands over his private part.

Violence & Gore

  • A lot for a PG. One scene has racism against a Inuit man. He gets pushed around the bar until he's thrown out onto the ground outside. A sick Inuit girl throws up blood many times. Some caribou are killed, cleaned in some detail and carved up for meat, hide, etc. Main character has violent outbursts on occasion.

Profanity

  • A lot for a PG. -- "shit", "son of a bitch" and similar variants numerous times. No F-word.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The first scene is in a bar, where most of the patrons are smoking and drinking. One patron is shown stumbling drunk. The main character smokes cigars. However, such is not glorified, and arguably it's a lifestyle discouraged.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A small plane crashes in the arctic. Mosquitoes and flies swarm one of the characters until he panics, trips and knocks himself unconscious. World War 2 flashbacks of aerial bombing runs. The characters come across an old plane crash with blackened skeletons.
