Danse serpentine (1897)

This Lumiere Brothers film is a lot of fun as a female dancer is on the stage twirling her dress around as if it had wings. The bonus is that the image was color tinted so as the dress twists and turns it's constantly changing colors. If you're a fan of these early hand- colored films then you'll certainly want to check this one out. There were several of these made by various companies but this here is one of the best as the dance itself is quite good and the colorization is also extremely well-done. Fans of early cinema will certainly want to check this one out.
