This is an entertaining little cartoon designed to convey basic health information in a memorable manner to troops going to serve in the Far East; one by one, our six soldiers succumb to temptation and fail to obey simple health precautions such as sleeping under a mosquito net, sterilising drinking water, or resisting the blandishments of alluring local women. The final punchline comes when the last man standing returns home be-medalled with his disgraced comrades -- and receives the attentions not only of his girl, but of all theirs as well, much to the lady's annoyance!
It's an ingenious bit of educational entertainment that gets its message across clearly and effectively, and probably livened up an otherwise tedious list of "dos and don'ts". Particularly amusing (and memorable) are the depictions of the consequences of all these transgressions -- I especially appreciated the representation of the taboo subject of V.D. via a horribly embarrassed-looking victim trying to hide under his sheets...
