  • Continuity: Roy Waller purchases Tareyton cigarettes, and is seen with packs of Tareyton, but smokes Kool cigarettes throughout the movie. The name can be seen on the cigarettes, and the telltale Kool gold stripe is seen on all his smokes. The ashtray in Roy's car in one fast cut shot is also full of Kool butts.

  • Continuity: When Roy gets out of the car to meet Angela for the first time, he leaves the car door open. A few seconds later, it's closed again.

  • Continuity: When Frank comes to Roy's house to look for him, he messily eats a sandwich. The amount of mayonnaise smeared on his lips changes repeatedly between shots.

  • Continuity: Angela's plate of eggs moves between shots.

  • Continuity: When Angela is in Roy's house drinking a beer, there is alternately foam/no foam in the neck between shots.

  • Continuity: The mayonnaise on Angela's face while she's eating her burger moves and disappears at random.

  • Continuity: When Angela and Roy are fighting outside in the street, she's wearing a necklace that has stones on it and a slight "V". Once they come back inside, the necklace has changed to a simple thin choker.

  • Factual errors: Roy listens to the Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass song "The Lonely Bull" on vinyl record. The track selection is cut two - on this album "The Lonely Bull" is the first track.

  • Continuity: When Roy is sitting in his car waiting to meet Angela and about to give up and drive away, he has a cigarette in his mouth as seen through the windshield. In the next shot, as he is about to turn the keys to the ignition, he's holding the cigarette in his hand.

  • Continuity: When Roy is sitting in his car waiting to meet Angela and about to give up and drive away, the length of the cigarette gets longer and shorter.

  • Continuity: When Roy is telling Angela he doesn't want her around, she unwraps the puppy angel ashtray and reaches into the car. But when she sets it on the dashboard the ashtray is still wrapped, Roy then picks it up and unwraps it again.

  • Revealing mistakes: Despite the fact that obsessive-compulsive Roy has supposedly been locked in his house for days cleaning every square inch, dirty fingerprints are clearly visible on the door when he finally answers it.

  • Boom mic visible: After the first con, the mike is reflected in the car's window when they return to the car.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Roy and Frank return to the house and find that Angela is missing, Roy is caught by Frank walking on his own carpet with his shoes on. The sound of him turning on the carpet is the sound of a wood floor not carpet.

  • Continuity: When Roy and Angela are riding in the car towards Angela's home, the car is moving and you can see motion in the drivers side mirror but the trees in the passengers side mirror are motionless.

  • Continuity: Frank pulls his clip-on tie off of his shirt with his collar buttoned up. In the next shot, his collar is open and unbuttoned.

  • Continuity: After pulling the things from the pool to dispose of them, Roy goes to take his pills, puts them on the counter and reaches for a paper towel. When he gets the paper towel, the pills aren't on the counter. Then in the next shot they are back.

  • Continuity: When Angela first skates past Roy's car, the amount of ash on Roy's cigarette varies between shots.

  • Continuity: When Roy is waiting for Angela after summer school, there is a parked Toyota in the vision, but next scene the parked Toyota parks again.

  • Continuity: When Roy and Frank are having argument about the airport job being blown, Roy's collar changes positions between shots.
