Way too much down time. I paid to watch a movie about speed not people standing around talking about speed. I saw this on an Imax screen. Tim Allen was ok but his style of humor is getting kind of tired. There was some good direct view scenes with the race car going around the track. They overdid the section on the runner, not really something that took advantage of the Imax format.

Unpretentious, interesting and thrilling.

This is one of the best IMAX films I have seen. It never aims to blow you away with lofty idea's or vapid film sequences. It's a kind of study on why some individuals strive for speed. Race cars, Mountain bikes, Running etc. You get to know a little about the individuals so you have some vested interest in the IMAX footage that brings their experience to life. Tim Allen does an excellent job of both standing in as our link to the individuals in the film and with the narration. There is also additional footage covering the broader topic of speed and what pushes humans to excel. This a great film and is filled with great signature IMAX movie magic.
