This is quite possibly the most underrated game ever made. YES this game is easy, however the story and controls make it a lot of fun. The thing that really gets me about this game is it's lack of Gothic goodness, and the way Dante acts. Dante in the previous title is a complete cocky, over confidante, but goodhearted bad*ss. The Dante in this title might as well be called Blade or Alucard, the silent, but cool, type of guy. However in this title you get to play as another character named Lucia.
The story Dante must now go to Africa to stop a Corporate head in his plans to become The Despair embodied, a creature who I suppose is worse than the devil. He joins forces with Lucia and to stop his evil plan. Perhaps the coolest part about this game is that Sparta's old buddy Bolverk is here. He, along with the despair embodied are the best character bosses of this game.
The talked about flaws The enemies don't really make sense. A butterfly, monkeys, an orangutan, larva, skeletons in cages, they aren't as creative as the ones in the original. The best enemies in this game that bring out the most of Gothic horror are the Goat creature. They are the goats that represent the Goat of Mendes.
The Game also seems to be more of a western than a Gothic horror game. The camera is zoomed out WAY to far. The game is really easy. THE NUMBER 1 thing that gets me though is the fact that wherever Dante runs, even is a clean dust free building, Dante seems like he is running on a dirt road, because Dante creates dust trails from his boots.
Even with these flaws though, it still a really fun game and has plenty of replay value to it. 7.5/10'
