“Reno 911!” was a great show that never should have lasted as long as it did. After one of the funniest first seasons in TV history, the show struggled to maintain an identity and stretched the talents of its very talented improv performers to their absolute limits. Head writers Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, and Kerri Kenney-Silver were consistently the funniest and most enjoyable to watch, and now Lennon and Garant have teamed up to pen and star in a multi-camera comedy for NBC. The show’s premise is being kept secret for the time being, so all we know is that Lennon will be the principal star, with Garant in a supporting role. Asher Roth performs on Governor's Island

New York — Governors Island was crawling with people Wednesday evening, as Asher Roth and N.E.R.D. performed at the Water Taxi Beach on the city's former military post.
"We're on an island, so there's no rules," Roth shouted to the crowd at the start of the show. He opened his set with a performance of his album's first track, "Lark on My Go-Kart," and his stage presence seemed improved from past shows. The "College"-loving rapper has matured to a more traditional hip-hop performer. Queen Latifah will star in a modern-day Cinderella tale movie entitled "Just Wright". The Dakota Fanning's co-star in "The Secret Life of Bees" is set to play a female physical therapist who falls in love with a basketball player while helping him recover from a career-threatening injury.
Joining the film's production as its leading lady marks Latifah's second time landing a starring role in a romantic comedy following her role as Georgia Byrd in 2006 "Last Holiday". Aside from toplining the project, the Grammy-winning rapper will also produce the movie under her Flavor Unit banner alongside Shakim Compere and Debra Martin Chase.
"Just Wright" actually has been set up six years ago at Disney. However, the project was shelved before being put into turnaround and then picked up by Fox Searchlight. The movie is yet to have any director or other cast members attached. Still, Searchlight reportedly eye to start the principal photography in May. »
