Director Robbie Moffat turned down video deals with several major UK distributors, because he felt that as an independent picture it was important that unemployed Scots could afford to see a picture detailing their own history 'to give them some of their national pride back'. He chose to distribute the film both through his own website and through Amazon.co.UK at a nominal charge to cover the basic cost of postage and pressing the disc.
