I have seen all the newer versions of Henning Mankell's Wallander
series and the ones with Christer Henriksson in Wallander seems like
movies for younger people. Seeing Den 5'e kvinnan really made me think
=) 90 minutes doesn't really make these kinds of movies all they should
be, which the newer versions usually are, to short, doesn't really hit
you in the head, do they? It takes a masterpiece to make something that
feels real for the viewer and this feels real! Rolf Lassgård should if
he has not already get a golden for his part as Wallander in my
opinion. Rolf makes Wallander seem like a real person, he is not
perfect! No one is and in the newer movies I have seen Christer
Henriksson as the perfect police officer who doesn't make mistakes and
is nice and understanding to everyone. That's not really real to me and
I think that even in movies we watchers need to see the none perfect
versions =) I refuse to spoil this movie, that's why I can say that I
can't say very much more about it accept for brilliant acting, not only
from Rolf. You have to see this movie to understand what I am talking
about and as I was stuck for about 4 hours in bed watching it I am sure
you won't be disappointed hehe.
I saw this TV-movie in swedish television and was simply knocked off my
feet. The TV-drama was even better than the book. The greatest actor in
this
drama was Anki Lidén who played the part of the killer. Her acting left me
breathless and she left me almost feeling sorry for the killer Yvonne
Ander
in the end. I felt I could understand the motives for the murders she
committed. Anki Lidén managed to bring so many parts of Yvonne Ander to
life
including both compassion, warmth, commitment and the brutality she
possessed. Added up with the scenes showing her childhood one understood
why
she decided to take revenge on men who assaulted and even had killed their
wives and girlfriends.

I saw this movie as a two-part mini-series on German television in a
dubbed
version. The works of Henning Mankell, author of the original novel, had
been recommended to me.
So although I expected something above the average TV stuff, this really
knocked me off my feet! The story is excellent and provides lots of
unexpected twists and turns, and casting and acting are just plain
beautiful. This goes especially for the villain.
One has got to get used to the camera work here, it resembles the
hand-camera style of the Dogma series.
I should perhaps note that this is a film about violence against women,
and
it's done in a way women should like.
Don't miss this one!
