Re-visiting the VHS collection of Burbank Animation Studios' animations, the one that held up best was Count of Monte Cristo. Hans and the Silver Skates is one of their better ones also to me. The dialogue is a little cheesy for my liking and while the protagonists' voices are endearing some of the secondary characters in this regard are bland or overdone. However, the animation while not the best I've ever seen has some good vibrancy and not too stiff, while the music has a pleasant lilt to it. The story is an entertaining and touching one, and the two protagonists are likable and easy to warm to.
All in all, while I in general quite like Burbank Animation Studios' output, I personally don't consider any of them outstanding material. Some are very good in my view though and Hans and the Silver Skates is one of them. 8/10 Bethany Cox
