This article contains spoilers for "Star Trek: Picard." It also contains references to domestic and child abuse, so reader discretion is advised.
Art often imitates life, but in the case of "Star Trek: Picard," that seems completely intentional. The series has completely blurred the lines between Jean-Luc Picard, the Starfleet officer who likes his Earl Grey hot, and Patrick Stewart, the British actor who has become a worldwide treasure. The series deals heavily with the idea of legacy, and the third season has dug into the concept even further as Picard reconciles the fact that he has a long-lost son, Jack Crusher (Ed Speelers). Picard had a difficult childhood and contentious relationship with his own father (as detailed in season 2 of "Picard"), and it's clear that the idea of fatherhood makes him uneasy as a result. Stewart has been honest about his own struggles in childhood as well, revealing that...

There’s no doubt in our mind that the video game medium has been kind to superheroes for the past eight years and, more specifically, those residing under the DC Comics umbrella. We say that because, for the longest time, interactive experiences based on our favorite masked characters were often mediocre at best. Let’s be honest, we probably played them because they were all we had to go on.
But in 2009, the paradigm shifted with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Not only did Rocksteady Studios get what makes the Dark Knight tick, but they found the winning formula when it came to actually bringing his world to button-mashing life. Soon after, other fan favorites like Injustice and Batman: The Telltale Series came about, each exploring the DC Universe in their own unique ways.

Over the past couple of months, Sylvester Stallone has been teasing the return of Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago in Creed 2. There's been no official confirmation by the studio, but it seems like this is really happening!
First Stallone posted a photoshopped image featuring Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), the son of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), facing off against Drago. That image came with the caption:
"Here's a chance to stretch your imagination ... History Will Always Repeat Itself In One Form Or Another, Just Got To Be Ready! ... Sins of the Father.... #creed2 # agentnickyc #rockybalboa"
Then when asked if Drago would be coming back as a fighter or a trainer, Stallone said:
"I'm gonna punch him...You know I gotta hit Drago once."
Now today we have a video from Lundgren himself showing us that he's started his intense training to reprise his role!

Over the past few weeks, Sylvester Stallone has made no secret of the fact that Ivan Drago would be returning in Creed 2, the sequel to the 2015 sports drama from Ryan Coogler that served as a successor to the Rocky franchise. That film was much better than it had any right to be, and it even managed to snag an Oscar nomination for Stallone’s portrayal of the Italian Stallion himself, Rocky Balboa.

For this sequel, it seemed natural that the next obstacle could come in the form of Ivan Drago. For those who aren’t incredibly versed in the Rocky mythology, in Rocky IV, the Russian boxer killed Apollo Creed — Adonis Creed’s father — in the ring, which led to his eventual showdown with Rocky. Given that Drago is responsible for Adonis’ father’s death, it’s a great next step for this franchise to take in addressing that.

Movie News: See Sylvester Stallone Tease 'Creed 2' in Russia; 'Close Encounters' Returns to Theaters
Creed 2: Sylvester Stallone shared an image depicting himself watching Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) from Rocky IV facing off against Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) from Creed. We previously heard that a Creed sequel is on its way, though it's been delayed. Stallone suggested: “You’ll have him face a different opponent, which I would say is a more ferocious, big Russian … And you can see what’s happening with the Russians today in America." Sylvester Stallone is always pretty active on social media, Twitter and even Instagram. But a few of his more recent posts have grabbed the attention Rocky fans (below). A few of the posts put a lot of focus on Dolph Lundgren's infamous character Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, even hinting at the character showing up in Creed sequel.
This would be a Very interesting plot idea because you may remember that the main character of Creed is Adonis Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), Rocky's one-time rival and friend. In Rocky IV Apollo comes out of retirement to face Russian boxer, Ivan Drago, only to end up being killed by Drago in the ring. Rocky surely feels some responsibility for Apollo's death because he did not throw in the towel to end the fight.

If you’re curious what form “Creed 2” might take on, consider visiting Sylvester Stallone’s Instagram for a few clues. The actor, who received an Academy Award nod for his performance in the 2015 “Rocky” spinoff directed by Ryan Coogler, has posted a photoshopped picture in which Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) appears next to Ivan Drago of “Rocky IV” with an intriguing caption.

A couple years back, we saw the return of Rocky Balboa and the spirit of the boxing underdog with the film Creed. While a start to its own series, it also served as a seventh film in the ongoing Rocky saga, with Sylvester Stallone’s iconic Italian Stallion serving as a supporting character to Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s old friend, Apollo Creed. The film was a resounding success on all fronts, both as a boxing movie and an emotional rollercoaster, but fans were left wondering what we would be getting from an inevitable sequel.
Time has passed, and while audiences haven’t forgotten about the need for a sequel just yet, it’s been a hot minute since Creed has been a part of a conversation. Well, Sly Stallone took to Instagram to remedy the situation. In the instagram post, we see a photoshopped picture of Adonis...

Although Action Comics #976 was probably the most important read this week when it came to the more significant happenings in the DC Universe as a whole, it’s undeniable that The Flash #19 was not to be overlooked, either. Granted most of the issue was spent fleshing out the “Sins of the Father” story arc, but it was the final page that demanded the attention of all.
As it turns out, Eobard Thawne/Zoom (could we please go back to calling him the Reverse Flash now that Daniel West is dead?) has broken out of Iron Heights Prison. Not only that, but he now recalls the world of Flashpoint – and possibly even the time that preceded the New 52.
Now, a complete recollection of past realities is possible given that Superman has merged his pre and post-Flashpoint selves and realities, in addition to the adult Wally West jogging everyone’s memories of in Titans.

I’m pretty sure that not many would argue when I say that The Flash is currently on a hot streak, both as a television show and as a comic book. And while they’re equally as intriguing and feature some of the same characters, they’re different beasts entirely.
This week, a new story arc begins with The Flash #18, titled “Sins of the Father.” In it, Wally West/Kid Flash seeks to uncover some truths behind his father, Daniel West/The Reverse Flash, whom he’s desperately in search of. Hey, even if one of your parents were a crazed supervillain, I’m sure you’d want to know more about him.
Over the course of the issue, his journey takes both him and Barry Allen to Belle Reve Penitentiary, which many of you will recognize as the black site used to incarcerate the Suicide Squad. Not surprisingly, an...

Michael Fassbender will soon star in the action adventure film “Assassin’s Creed,” based on the video game by the same name, but he’s already appeared in many films this past year, including “The Light Between the Oceans,” “X-Men: Apocalypse” and then “Trespass Against Us,” a family drama that premiered earlier this year. “Trespass Against Us” follows three generations of the Cutler family who live as outlaws in their own corner of Britain’s richest countryside. Fassbender plays Chad, an heir apparent to his father Colby (Brendan Gleeson), but soon starts looking for another life as his own son Tyson (Georgie Smith) comes of age. It co-stars Sean Harris (“Prometheus”), Lyndsey Marshal (“The Hours”), Rory Kinnear (“Quantum of Solace”) and more. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

Just last night, I was reflecting on how Arrow spawned such a rich universe – now a multiverse – from its humble beginnings as an unrelated followup to Smallville. With timelines being rewritten and characters appearing in live action that we previously never thought possible (Wild Dog, anyone?), we truly are living in a golden age of fandom.
As can be expected, synopses released by the network allow us to gaze into the not too distant future of our favorite superhero shows. Please note that The Flash wasn’t included due to the fact that November 8 is Election Day in the United States, therefore the Scarlet Speedster won’t have a new episode to offer that week.

Keith Maitland’s SXSW prize winner — the film pulled in both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at this year’s festival — “Tower” takes a deeply painful story and lays it out through inventive and expressive animation.
“Tower” follows the events of August 1, 2966 — billed in official materials as “the day our innocence was shattered” — when University of Texas student Charles Whitman took to the school’s iconic tower and opened fire on the campus below. Over the course of 96 minutes, Whitman shot nearly 50 people, killing 16 of them (including an unborn child that people believe he targeted, as his mother was a very obvious 8 months pregnant at the time), before being taken out by police. The event is still one of America’s worst school shootings and, for many years, was the deadliest attack on a U.S. college campus.

Wondering how all the DC universe TV spin-offs, crossovers and webseries fit together? We have the answer...
In October 2012, Us network The CW launched the first season of Arrow, after wrapping up no fewer than ten seasons of Superman origin show Smallville a year before. Arrow was a completely new take on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, in a new universe that had nothing to do with Smallville or its version of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. The series proved quite the hit for The CW, and a second season renewal inevitably followed. In season two, we were introduced to forensic scientist Barry Allen, better known to DC Comics readers as The Flash. Arrow got a third season, The Flash got his own TV show with great success, and the live action shared DC Comics universe on TV was born. And with it the question: how does it all fit together?...

“Clerks” has inspired legions of loyal fans in its 22 years of existence, few of them more devoted than Christopher Downie. The 31-year-old filmmaker is set to make his debut feature with “Shooting Clerks,” a film about — you guessed it — the making of Kevin Smith’s debut feature. God, I love this wackadoodle show.
This week on CBS’ Zoo, Mitch deduced that their “missing link” in finding the cure would be an extremely hard get, while Jackson came face to face with his mutated mother. When all was said and done, the team was poised for a Jurassic lark, until an unexpected adversary surfaced.

Surveying the bones of the last animal they need to capture in the name of curing the triple-helix mutation, Mitch ultimately realized that their prey was a saber tooth cat — as in the animal that went extinct during the Ice Age.

Jackson’s mom has got it going on — and by “it,” we mean the triple-helix DNA, as seen in this intense sneak peek from tonight’s Zoo (CBS, 9/8c).

In “Sins of the Father,” Jackson and Abraham (played by James Wolk and Nonso Anozie) track down the missing Elizabeth Oz (Bess Armstong). Suffice it to say, Mom could very much use a visit from Mary Kay and a SuperCuts gift card. Having apparently also been injected with the triple-helix DNA by her husband/Jackson’s father, Elizabeth turned for the worse much quicker than her son.

While the fourth season of Arrow proved to be highly divisive among fans, it’s probably safe to say that many will still want it to adorn their shelves. And for those who do, you’ll be glad to know that on August 30, you can bring home Oliver Queen’s latest adventures on either Blu-Ray or DVD.
Something that I found to be cool about this upcoming set is that it actually includes an episode of The Flash, so you can enjoy both parts of the mid-season crossover in case you elect to buy only one series. Furthermore, several bonus features focus on the likes of Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Vandal Savage, which seems appropriate given that said crossover served as a backdoor pilot for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Arrow season 4 delivers a genuinely entertaining episode full of what fans want to see more of from the show...
This review contains spoilers.
4.17 Beacon Of Hope
Fan sentiment towards Arrow isn't at its best right now, with many feeling that last week's Olicity-heavy outing was a demonstration of how skewed the storylines have been this year. Apparently the show has taken the complaint that it's so much darker than The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl as an excuse to up the romance quota and, when your only big relationship involves two of the team's core members, that's an issue.
So here we are with Felicity no longer part of Team Arrow, a move that pretty much nobody wanted and one that poses the question – what are the writers going to do with her now? This is a series about the Green Arrow, hence the name, so...

Heroes can't be happy, especially if they're the 'dark', 'avengey' type of hero. Television just can't cope with happy couples and, in addition, audiences for superhero shows expect a certain amount of drama. Forbidden love, girls in refrigerators or other insurmountable obstacles, whatever the writers come up with we can be sure that, if the main character is happy for even five minutes, it all has to come crashing down.
The difference on Arrow is that the hero's unhappiness is almost totally his doing. For the most part, the show's writers have done a great job writing Oliver in that his negative actions (excluding season three's Ra's storyline) always feel in character. He's guarded and damaged and imbued with a sense...

The question of who's in that flash-forward grave rears its head again in the latest episode of Arrow season 4...
This review contains spoilers.
4.14 Code Of Silence
Secrets. Everyone on this show is keeping secrets from people they love and everyone is doing it for the other person's own good. If Greg Berlanti shows have one trademark, it's that. On this week's Arrow it was Quentin's turn to hide his connection with Hive from Donna, a move that at least sparked the correct reaction from her.
The mystery of who's in that grave is getting more and more pressing as we move through the season, and Quentin has long been one of the prime suspects. He's already in Damien Darhk's crosshairs and his death would have a pretty significant impact on a lot of the cast, but besides that he's also been more disposable than a Diggle or a Felicity.

Arrow’s latest outing, Sins of the Father, certainly has some high stakes on the line.
With Thea Queen’s life literally hanging in the balance, Oliver is given the opportunity to get a cure for his sister’s condition. The only thing is, in order for Nyssa al Ghul to hand over the goods, the Emerald Archer must carry out a task for the Daughter of the Demon: kill Malcolm Merlyn.
So, with a power battle taking place within the League of Assassins, and with Thea on death’s door, things don’t get any smoother for Team Arrow when Felicity Smoak has to deal with the recent arrival in Star City on her long-absent father.
Throughout this hard-hitting, game-changing episode, there were a whole load of Wtf moments that left jaws agape and threw up questions as to what lies ahead for the Green Arrow and his world.

Season 3 of Arrow was a mess. The League of Assassins storyline didn’t really grip audiences, Matt Nable’s Ra’s al Ghul was a disappointment following on from Deathstroke, Diggle was sidelined, Felicity was reduced to a love interest, and the whole thing was really miserable.
Given all that, it’s not necessarily the wisest move to have en episode of Season 4 – which has been very strong so far – so rooted in the events of last year. That’s what we get with Sins of the Father, and the results are unsurprisingly mixed.
In fairness, it’s one of the best League of Assassins episodes we’ve had, helped by the fact it has Nyssa vs Malcolm at its core, and Oliver gets to play a great part in trying to find a resolution between the pair that will save his sister without either of them dying.

"Sins of the Father" ended in a way that no Arrow fan could've easily predicted. Despite Nyssa's declaration no one, except for a few nameless random people, died in the civil war between the League of Assassins. Oliver and crew diverted a war and all sides lived to fight another day.
This seems like good news on the surface. Except Malcolm's defeat caused the occasional villain to turn towards revenge. Malcolm met with Damien Darhk and told the big bad of Arrow season 4 that there is someone Oliver loves more than Felicity. It is his son, William. With that twist, Arrow looks to have answered the season-long mystery of who is in the grave. William is apparently going to learn a harsh (and fatal) lesson on what it means to have Oliver Queen as a father.

After Nyssa’s offer to Oliver last week, to save Thea’s life, this week’s Arrow was one of the most intense episodes of Season 4 as well as in the whole series. While I was hoping for something more compelling with him this week, sadly, I didn’t get much out of Felicity’s interaction with her father this week. Knowing the shady side that this man has and what he is capable of, anything he would say to Felicity was predictable and didn’t give me that feeling of “Hmm, maybe she should give him a shot” at any point. The only good thing to

My head admittedly was swimming early on during this week’s Arrow, as Oliver and Nyssa (…and then Nyssa and Laurel) repeatedly made their cases for killing Malcolm — or not. But by the end of the hour, a long-running piece of show mythology had interestingly come to an end and a time bomb was set in motion, to eventually explode Oliver’s imminent marriage.

With Thea's life on the line, Nyssa and Malcolm battled for power with Oliver stuck in the middle on Arrow Season 4 Episode 13, "Sins of the Father." Arrow set up a exciting premise for "Sins of the Father". The conflict between Nyssa Al Ghul and Malcolm had finally come to a head and in Nyssa's own words, someone was going to die. It was about tense a situation in Arrow's history( (at least for an episode that wasn't a season finale) and it had a lot to deliver.
"Sins of the Father" sadly fell a bit short of what it could have been, but it was still a fine episode. The end has a shocking twist and is an event that will likely have major repercussions in the weeks and maybe even years to come on Arrow.

Nyssa gave Oliver quite the intriguing offer at the end of last week’s Arrow: if he kills Malcolm Merlyn, she’ll help cure Thea’s blood lust and save her life. However, despite everything that Malcolm has done to Oliver, his family, and his friends, he still doesn’t want to kill him, and he explains why in this sneak peek from tonight’s episode, “Sins of the Father.” In the clip below, Oliver explains to Diggle and Laurel that despite how terrible of a person Malcolm has been he is still Thea’s family, still her father, and that matters. He even brings up his

The CW has released the first batch of images from Wednesday’s episode of Arrow, and they feature a meeting between Felicity Smoak and her father, The Calculator (his true name has yet to be revealed). Making his debut in this week’s instalment of the DC Comics adaptation, it was revealed that he had plans to destroy Star City and appears to be just as unaware about Felicity’s secret life as she is about his.
Fans of Arrow have been speculating for a while that he would be revealed as Felicity’s father, so the twist didn’t have a huge impact, but it certainly still opens the door to some new storytelling possibilities.

"Unchained" saw two Arrow fan favorites return to Star City, Nyssa Al Ghul and Roy Harper. One return was exciting, action-packed and everything fans of the character could have hoped to see. The other was Roy's return. It's not that Roy's homecoming to Star City was bad. Colton Haynes is still about as likable as he's ever been on screen playing Roy Harper and it was fun to see him suit up again. The plot was just a little bland. "Unchained" as a whole felt like a massive set-up for episode 13, "Betrayal". That episode should be a wild ride of Arrow story based on the cliffhanger of "Sins of the Father."...
