When the group of Pentecostal Evangelical inmates are shown, they are joining hands praying the "Lord's Prayer". However, they are reciting the Portuguese words of the Roman Catholic version, which differs from the Protestant version in the use of pronouns and verb tenses.
During the riot, as the inmates are running up the stairs of the cell block shortly after the riot squad has entered, one inmate can be seen wearing a T-Shirt of hip-hop group the Wu-Tang Clan. The group only formed in the year the riot took place (1992), and did not release their first widely available album (36 Chambers - Enter the Wu-Tang) until the following year. It is unlikely they would at this time have had a following in Brazil, nor would merchandise be available.
One of the inmates is wearing a Brazilian national team football shirt with four stars, representing the four times that Brazil was FIFA world-champion. But the movie ends in the massacre of 1992, two years before they won the fourth title.
The inmate kissing the posterior of Rita Cadillac during her performance is wearing a jersey for the Carolina Panthers, an American (NFL) Football team. That franchise hadn't even been granted yet in 1992 and thus didn't have a name, logo, or uniform design.
During the film the Corinthians (a traditional soccer team) symbol is shown prominently in flags and shirts with four stars; three for the Brazilian cups they won until 2003 and one for the world championship in 2000. However, in 1992 they had only won one Brazilian cup and no world title, so the symbol should have a lone star.
During the film a prisoner is shown wearing a Sao Paulo (a traditional soccer team) t-shirt with four stars, two yellow and two red. However, the red stars were only placed on the logo in 2000, 18 years after the movie.
