About as good as you get for this sort of thing
MBunge21 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is a movie you're really got to grade on a curve. The writing, direction and acting are all sub par for a regular film, but this isn't a regular film. This is a soft core skin flick, the sort made famous by late night Cinemax. You've got to judge Sinful Temptations by the astoundingly low standards of its genre and on those marks, this is a non-awful piece of entertainment for people who like this sort of thing.

Nicole Williams (Mia) is a bosomy young wife who's tired of being stuck at home and ignored by her unrelenting prick of a husband, Brad (Timothy Stempien). She decides to try her hand at modeling and impresses Claire and Blake (Marie West and Richard Moses), the owners of a local agency, enough to immediately get a photo shoot. Claire is both struck by Nicole's beauty and annoyed at her professed wholesomeness, so she makes a bet with Blake. If the modeling lifestyle leads Nicole to cheat on her husband, Claire gets Blake's half of the profits for 6 months. If Nicole resists temptation, Blake gets Claire's half.

While Claire hatches a scheme with a horny photographer (Tom Fry) to win the bet, Blake finds himself falling in love with Nicole, Brad finds himself consumed with paranoia and resentment over his wife's new life and Nicole is caught up in fantasizing about Blake and the horny photographer. Separately, though. Not both of them at the same time. It all leads to murder for some and a new life for others.

As I referenced before, this isn't even remotely close to being good when measured against legitimate cinema. But the woman are all attractive, at least one of them gets naked every 10 minutes and there's only one truly atrocious actor in the entire cast. That makes Sinful Temptations the skin flick equivalent of Lawrence of Arabia. When you rent a movie like this, all you really want is hot chicks taking their clothes off and writhing around in a sexual manner. These chicks are hot. They frequently take their clothes off and the writhing is of above average quality.

The one outstandingly terrible actor is Timothy Stempien and he is quite remarkably terrible. He couldn't convincingly play dead if you shot him in the face. Stempien speaks in a monotone, has only two expressions and watching his face change from one to the other is like listening to someone grind the gears on a stick shift. The rest of the cast look like Oscar winners compared to Stempien, except for when Richard Moses is in a sex scene. He has a few and in all of them he does this thing where he moves his head from side to side like Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles. Outside of Moses' weird coitus bob, the other performances are perfectly acceptable.

There's noting exceptional or imaginative about this skin flick, but it never leaves you staring at the screen and wondering what the heck just happened. If you're not that bright and have a moral objection to hard core porn, this is as good an alternative as you'll find.

It was a Sin to sit through this movie
Falcon-5116 July 2003
No acting ability, a predictable plot a horribly bad film. It looks like they picked up a bunch of fair looking people off the street to get naked in front of a camera. 95% of the cast got nude at some point during the film some more often than others and this went on throughout the entire film. Too weak for Porn and to strong to be taken seriously. Don't waste you time unless you just want to see a bunch of T&A.

It doesn't get better than this.....I give it an A.
Smooth B26 February 2002
I'm gonna cut right to the chase.....Mia is about as hot as you can get. She certainly moved up my ladder of Cinemax honeys with her performance in this one.

I just finished watching this movie on Showtime, and I was amazed. The number of good looking women in this movie was outstanding. This was the first time I've seen Mia in a starring role, and she sure came through well. This is also the first time I've seen her with short hair...she looks a lot like Shauna O'Brien with that hairstyle.

The plot is cookie-cutter simple: Mia plays Nicole Williams, a bored and frustrated housewife with a husband who would rather she stay at home instead of doing anything for herself. While watching this movie, and seeing the way this guy's character acted, it made me want to bash this guy's head in with about 30 beer bottles.....ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?? Have you seen the woman you're married to? She's got a body out of this world, and she's practically begging for some attention....and this guy is barking out command after command. What a dummy.

Of course, this leads our shapely, very busty heroine to a modeling agency, where she has a nice talk with Claudia (Susan Featherly, an underrated actress if you ask me). Claudia reads Nicole like a book, pointing out her being a frustrated housewife married to her high school sweetheart. Nicole returns the favor, pointing out all the quirky characteristics of Claudia, including the fact that she'd jump at the chance to have an affair. Claudia, obviously PO'd about this, thinks that Nicole, if given the opportunity, would cheat in a heartbeat. Her business partner thinks otherwise. As if the writers ripped out the first third of "Cruel Intentions" and pasted it in the script, the partners make a bet on whether Nicole would cheat. Claudia, as the antagonist, has rigged the bet by throwing hot and horny models and photographers in Nicole's path. It seems like every photo shoot is one orgy after another, but that's not a bad thing....that's a good thing!

Of course, one thing leads to another, and many many sex scenes later, some shots ring out and a photographer is dead. Now it turns into a wild but predictable whodunit. This one is easy to figure out, but I'll won't tell you who killed the photographer.....if you watch this movie, the answer is about as obvious to spot as a 16 inch softball.

Griffin Drew makes an appearance in this one as the veteran model, teaching a few tricks to young and innocent Nicole, letting her inhibitions free! There's plenty of other hot women to look at, including Susan Featherly. I've seen her in many films, and she still gets overlooked.

Mia does a remarkable but somewhat non-believable job as Nicole, the shy, inhibited housewife with a deep-down desire to do be ambitious. When a woman looks as good as Mia does, it's hard to believe that she's "just a housewife." However, Mia still gives a great performance. Did I mention that Mia looked absolutely gorgeous in this movie? I mean, the woman looked AWESOME. It didn't matter what she did, or what she said....my eyes were glued to the screen the whole time.

"Sinful Temptations" falls into the trap most movies in this genre can't avoid.....relatively weak scripts. But, given the limits of the script, it was still a great movie. The plot is definitely recycled, so that limits the "Story" grade somewhat. Somebody get Mia some more starring roles......very soon!

Dangerous Liaisons done right.
dbrown-07020411 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

Claudia (Susan Featherly) and Blake run a modeling agency. Nicole (Mia Zottoli) wants to be a model. Nicole is married. Claudia bets Blake that she can get Nicole to cheat on her husband. Does this sound familiar? Dangerous Liaisons? Cruel Intentions? Okay, the plot is a just little different, but this one's better, because unlike those movies this one has lots and lots of explicit sex.

There are ten sex scenes, which is pretty good for a running time of about 85 minutes. The first one starts up right at the opening credits and then there's a steady stream of sex scenes and female skin throughout the entire film. Eight of the scenes are boy/girl, one is boy/girl/girl, and one is girl/girl. Mia Zottoli and Susan Featherly are the main attractions in the film and have three excellent scenes each. The rest of the women are plenty nice to look at too and do a good job in their scenes.

This is easy to recommend.

Hot candy on a stick.
warrior-2115 November 2001
I thought this movie was great because it did everything you like about. One scene gets boring go to the next and their was murder. Mia is hot my only regret is that she did not do some deeper scenes with the other females in the movie. I think anybody wanting a hot and steamy with a little acting and lovemaking need to watch this movie. It would have been great if there had been a catfight between the girls.

Strikingly Beautiful Cinematography and Actresses
patpowers19959 November 2014
I was just floored by the beauty of the cinematography in this film. It is gorgeous to look at. It's an order of magnitude above most Skinamax films, which IS saying something ... most Skinamax films do have competent professionals at work on them. This is soft-core eye candy of the very best quality. The actresses are beautiful and the sex scenes are plentiful and long. There is one scene where a well-tanned actress and actor make love in front of a coppery brown backdrop that looks like a classical nude painting brought to life. Incredible.

I rated this film a 9 out of 10. That is PURELY in terms of Skinamax quality. This film is NOT on a level with "Citizen Kane" or "The Maltese Falcon" but the standards for these films are so very different than Skinamax films that it's just not fair to judge them on the same playing field. Yes, "Sinful Temptations" has a plot, characterization and acting, all of it sub-par. If you are watching Skinamax films for these qualities, you are barking up the wrong tree.

As a Skinamax film, though, it's very nearly perfect. It's the sort of film students in Skinamax film courses should be required to watch, if there were such a thing. But we lucky dogs get to watch it just because it's fun, sexy and pretty to look at.
