This film has been inspired from the novel "La beauté sur la terre" of C. F. Ramuz. A young girl (about 17 years old) has lost her father and his uncle, Milliquet,who lives in a village at the lake of Geneva will take care for her. As soon as she appears on the terrace of the inn to listen to the music played by Vladic all the péople notice her beauty,Now there a lot of rumors in the village, some want to seduce her, another one is spying. Besides the wife of Milliquet doesn't like her. For a time the fisherman will receive her. But she feels deeply alone.
