Rebecca Loos came onto Treasure Island (2001) following the News of the World scandal that Loos had an affair with David Beckham.
The show shares it's title with the Robert Louis Stevenson novel "Treasure Island", which was about Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver as they sail to an island in the Carribbean to search for buried treasure.
During filming in April 2004 in Fiji, Lana Coc-Kroft became very ill due to a coral cut and was flown by helicopter to Auckland City Hospital with potentially fatal Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome. She spent nine days in a coma and five weeks in critical care and after 67 months of rehabilitation, she made an almost complete recovery.
