I was surprised when this silent comedy began. This is because the credited director is Larry Semon...a prolific screen comedian. I had no idea he'd directed others and thought he'd only directed films in which he starred.
The film often shows the world through the eyes of a drunk (Jimmy Aubrey). To replicate this, the director has the camera move about and it looks almost like the movie was filmed on the ocean, as it rocked back and forth repeatedly. It's a bit hard on the eyes and some might have difficulty seeing it without feeling queasy. It's a shame, as Aubrey is quite enjoyable in the film and does a great drunk act. It seems this husband has returned home to his wife, totally blitzed....and when a burglar arrives, things get a bit crazy.
The film is very enjoyable but in addition to the camera dancing about, the story seems to end abruptly at the end...as if the very end of the story is missing...which is quite possible.
