Larry Semon's shorts tended to be about 20 minutes each. In the case of one of his early films, "Plagues and Puppy Love", however, it's about half that length...and it seemed just fine with the shorter run time.
The story begins with a pretty lady in the park being chased by a dirty old man. Soon, she's attracted several more of these mashers and she needs a knight in shining armor...and that's where Larry comes into the story. He not only chases these jerks away, but when some godawful kids steal her little dog and send it aloft with balloons, it's Larry to the rescue!
Overall, it's a cute little comedy that's well suited for Semon's style. Worth seeing and memorable.
