Academy Award winner Julianne Moore has hit out against the term “aging gracefully” as it applies to women. The star of Apple and Stephen King’s “Lisey’s Story” and the upcoming musical “Dear Evan Hansen” spoke candidly on the subject in a cover story from As If magazine. (Via People.)
The actress, in the interview, deemed the term “totally sexist.” “There’s so much judgment inherent in the term ‘aging gracefully,'” she said. “Is there an ungraceful way to age? We don’t have an option of course. No one has an option about aging, so it’s not a positive or a negative thing, it just is.”
An Oscar winner for “Still Alice,” Moore added that “[aging is] part of the human condition, so why are we always talking about it as if it is something that we have control over?”

Julianne Moore wants to redefine how we speak about aging, especially as it pertains to women. The 60-year-old actress is one of many Hollywood stars who have been praised for their appearances as they grow older and, frankly, Julianne is over it. She tells As If magazine that it's "totally sexist" to say a woman is "aging gracefully." "There's so much judgement inherent in the term 'aging gracefully,'" she remarked. "Is there an ungraceful way to age? We don't have an option of course. No one has an option about aging, so it's not a positive or a negative thing, it just is. Though it's been 25 years since we were first introduced to the icon that is Cher Horowitz, we're still majorly, totally, butt crazy in love with Clueless. (As if we could forget!) And luckily, Alicia Silverstone shares our appreciation for it. In a recent interview with People, the 43-year-old actress reflected on playing the bratty yet adorably sweet teen and how her role still resonates with fans today. Silverstone, who was only 18 when she took on the role, told the publication, "So much has happened since. At the same time, it feels like yesterday."
"It feels like yesterday."
Though Silverstone has gathered a slew of credits since Clueless - she even has a role on the new Baby-Sitters Club reboot - she's still the Cher fans know and love. While fans are "really respectful," Silverstone said they'll often greet her with movie references. "Sometimes they'll shout catchphrases,...

Timothée Chalamet took a subtle hit at Scarlett Johansson during his December 9 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The 23-year-old actor was singing the praises of his “Lady Bird” and “Little Women” writer-director Greta Gerwig when he said he would do anything to star in her future projects. “Greta, if you’re watching this…you want me to play a chair or a tree [I will],” Chalamet said. “Like Scarlett Johansson, I’ll play a tree!”
Chalamet was referencing Johansson’s viral interview with “As If” magazine published in July. The actress was responding to her history of casting controversies when she said, “You know, as an actor I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job.”

Scarlett Johansson wants to clarify remarks she made in an interview about politically correctness, following fresh controversy. Almost exactly a year ago, the 34-year-old actress pulled out of the movie Rub & Tug, in which she was set to play a transgender character, following criticism from some members of the Lgbt community and allies who believe a transgender performer should get the role. Johansson recently came under fire again following some media coverage of comments she made about political correctness in art in an interview with artist David Salle for As If magazine, published last week. When asked if the industry was seeing any particular trends today, Johansson said there were "certainly trends in casting right now." "Today there's a lot of emphasis and conversation about what acting is and who we want to see represent ourselves on screen," she replied. "The question now is, what is acting anyway?" The sad fact with As If, is that it is almost impossible to track down today. The show has never been released on DVD, due to a copyright issue with the music. Without the music, it simply wouldn't be As If.

Back in 2001, the landscape of British teen dramas didn't continue much further than Byker Grove, Grange Hill and a relatively new soap called Hollyoaks.
Since then, we've had plenty of shows that focus on the lives of a group of youths, from Skins to Misfits to Made in Chelsea. But there was one show that arguably kickstarted the modern teen drama without getting the kudos it deserves, and that show was As If.

Jemima Rooper has said that she would love an As If reunion.
The Atlantis actress starred as Nicki Sutton in the Channel 4 comedy-drama, which ran for four series from 2001 to 2004.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Rooper said that she would be open for a one-off special, especially as the show was made by some of her current colleagues.
"It's by the same guys that make Atlantis," she said. "They're so busy now, I don't know.
"We kept saying wouldn't it be brilliant to do a This Life-type 10-years-on thing. I'd love to see them."
As If also starred Paul Chequer, Emily Corrie, Orlando Wells, Caroline Chikezie and Ben Waters, and centred around a group of six young adults, with each episode focusing on a different character's point of view.
Rooper added: "I know one of the actresses [Corrie] is now in the navy, so I don't know whether she would come back!

Broadchurch has gone down a storm over in the Us, where it aired on BBC America, so when news broke that Fox was developing its own version of the hit ITV crime drama, it didn't come as that much of a surprise.
What did come as a surprise was the remake's first confirmed piece of casting - David Tennant is to reprise his role as lead male detective, though this time with a Yank twang. Let's just hope his 'Generican' accent has improved since the Rex Is Not Your Lawyer days...
But, of course, Tennant isn't the first star to become his own Us counterpart - Friday Fiver presents a quintet of actors who followed their characters all the way to Hollywood.

A lot of our modern popular saying and ideas come from movies. We are a movie saturated society and it shows in everything we do. Some films are more memorable than others and have a longer shelf life when it comes to repeating key lines.
We thought we'd make up a list of the top 10 most quotable movies of all time. It was an extensive list and extremely difficult to narrow down. We could only pick 10, so we did it based on number of memorable quotes and impact of those quotes.
What movies make your list?

Tai: "no s*^t, you guys got coke here?!"
Cher: "well yeah, this is america" Tai: Why am I even listening to you to begin with? You're a virgin that can't drive! Cher: You know how picky I am about my shoes, and they only go on my feet. Cher: Oh look,...
