Parents Guide for
A Beautiful Mind (2001)

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

There is no nudity in the film, but it includes some crude references, such as a man asks a woman if she wants to have sexual intercourse with him.

Violence & Gore

There are a few tense scenes, including a car shoot-out, two men getting shot and their car goes off the road into a lake.

There is a scene domestic violence, a little child is in a bathtub full of water, up to it's nose, which may be hard for some viewers.

A man sits and picks with his fingernails into his skin, trying to find something that was supposedly implanted into him, with blood all over his arm, clothing, and floor.

Profanity

Some strong language, several uses of the word 's--t'.

Drinking and smoking is involved, very little.

Some of the minimal violence and tense scenes might be hard for viewers, and young kinds, to watch.
