Top 50 Performances of the Decade (Female)

21 hours ago | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

This list has more repeat offenders than the male list yesterday. Please give these 45 talented women one last round of applause before we take a break from the decade stuff to embark on the 2009 awards. As with the male list, I didn't include any 2009 performances (let the year settle first) though there is at least one that would obviously (x 50) be here if I did...

"And it's time my luck changed. And it's time something went right for me!"

-"Julia" makes a plea for a surprise Tilda Swinton nomination this year.

Please Note: This list should not be mistaken for an updated 'Actresses of the Aughts' chart. [editors note: I may attempt to return to that massive project in a definitive way after this year's Oscar race is complete]. How you feel about someone's entire career can be markedly different than how you feel about individual turns and an actress whose skill you may admire might not hit you as hard emotionally as she hits others. Then there are actresses I »

Vivica A. Fox has opened up about working with ex-boyfriend 50 Cent. The Kill Bill actress revealed on The Mo' Nique Show how she came to be working with the rapper for his 'Do You Think About Me' music video, Sohh reports. The 45-year-old said: "I always had love for him and I got this surprise call. And [he] said, 'I need you,' and I said, 'I know you do'. It was great because we had never worked together before. "We had never worked together (more) »

1 January 2010 8:47 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

So, it’s been a busy month with votes coming in by the thousand but now that New Years Day has arrived we’ve been able to collate all your votes to give you the definitive list of movies that you believe defined the decade.

I’ll be looking at the top 10 in more depth below but you can download the entire list of movies by opening this Pdf. So, read on to find out which movies you believe most defined the decade.

Let us know your thoughts on the top 10 in the comments below. One question I have: If Avatar has come out earlier in the decade, would it have made your top 10 films of the past 10 years? Personally it would make it into my top 10 of 2009. Possibly even be number one.

10. There Will Be Blood (2007)

Director: Paul Thomas Anderson Cast: Daniel Day-Lewis / Mary Elizabeth Barrett / Paul Dano / Dillon Freasier »

Audio/Visual: A Decade of Music in Film

31 December 2009 9:08 PM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Here we are, at the end of 2009. I’m recalling my top ten favorite film scores of the past decade and we’re down to the last two. Some of you may be under the impression that I prefer certain picks on my list more than others. This is not the case. I had a hard enough time picking out a slim ten so I didn’t even bother trying to prioritize them. I consider them all equally important and enjoyable. However, these next two are my last presented because they, out of the ten, are the most personal. By this I mean that I feel my own tastes are most strongly represented by these two soundtracks. Listen to them both and you will have the gist of what I love about music in film. Let’s start with We Are The Strange. If you’ve never seen this film »

Sundance Reveals New 'Buried' Photos

31 December 2009 7:31 PM, PST | Horrorbid | See recent Horrorbid news »

Showing at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Rodrigo Cortes‘ Buried centers around a contractor in Iraq who comes to in a buried coffin. I guess it's kind of like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill Volume 2 only Ryan Reynolds doesn't know Kung Fu. With only a light and a cell phone he must find away out of before he runs out of air. Sounds to me he's pretty much screwed since I doubt you can get good reception six feet under....

Sundance describes the 94-minute film as follows:

Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) is a U.S. citizen working as a contract driver in Iraq. After a swift and sudden attack on his convoy, he awakens to find himself buried alive inside a coffin with nothing more than a lighter, a cell phone, and little memory of how he ended up there. Faced with limited oxygen and unlimited panic, Paul finds himself in »
