A series of setups and punchlines

The Socratic Method is a great rental (considering it never made it to theaters) and will provoke at least a couple laughs from the more intelligent viewers... a few extra if you're a little easier to please. Obviously written by a lawyer, it contains a series of vignettes with the main characters addressing various issues facing law students and young adults in the defining years of their lives. Overall, the film manages to develop a connection between the viewer and the characters, and despite a few amateurish interactions between first time actors keeps the attention of critical viewers. As a featured extra on the film, I hunted down the title on-line and had it shipped to me. I'm glad I did. The group of friends that watched it with me generally enjoyed it, and had good things to say during the credits. I must say, it was an honor working directly with Richard Riehle, whose resume reads like an extended novel and who's who of the character actor catalogue. I was disappointed to find that my name was not credited, but hey, that's the biz. Blake Rodrigo and Ketrina Coffey are two others on this film who don't get credit, despite their appearance... Ketrina having the line that made me laugh the loudest as one of the 'pickup girls.' Bottom line, you probably won't find this in the video store (believe me, I've tried) but if you order it, it will make a pleasant addition to your collection of obscure and enjoyable independent films.

This film is a must see for all lawyers or law students. That is not to say that non-lawyers won't get it, they will. In short, this film is very funny and done well. It is the "Paper Chase" with a dash of "Animal House" (just a dash). If you can find it, rent it.

I haven't seen it on screen yet, but it looked good from the inside.

I was a main extra in a few scenes and stand-in for jou jou, who, I might add, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. This movie looked promising, and I hope it turned out as just as good. It was a lot of fun to be a part of. Look for me, I'm first walking walking through the halls in a few scenes or sitting next to jou jou in the note drop scene, or kissing my girlfriend in a wide shot of the campus, that is if any of those scenes got cut, haha. Anyway, if anyone has any info on where to find this movie, email me. Enjoy!
